[B42/B41] Bandits NPC (v2)
Some questions about the AI logic of Bandits behavior
Since I’m not sure how the AI behavior logic for the bandits is designed in this mod, I have a few questions I’d like to ask for clarification.

1. I’d like to understand the pathfinding and spawn logic of the bandits. For example, if I build a shelter deep in the woods far from any towns, how do the bandits find it? Do they track me somehow, or do they just spawn directly in the forest near my house?

2. If I’ve built a house in the forest and there are bandits nearby, but they don’t have line of sight on me, will they still actively attack the house, or will they simply pass by without engaging?

3. For certain walls like the Big Wired Fence or High Fence that zombies can't climb but players can, is the bandit AI able to climb over them, or are they also blocked by these types of obstacles?

4. I noticed that one of the mod options says bandits can steal my items. Does this only happen after they’ve actually broken into my house, or is it simulated by randomly removing items from inside my base to represent “theft”?

1. Bandits act very locally. They'll just spawn in within the same cell as you based on your location and their spawn chances. You being in the deep forest would lower their chances as a lot of bandits spawn urban-only, but you'd still have forest-dwellers spawning in your vicinity.
2. As far as I know, bandits who spawn in as wanderers run around aimlessly, so even if your home is the only one for miles around, they probably won't gravitate to it. That being said there's always a chance they might. Raider bandits - or assault, whatever - if I remember correctly always want you dead, so even if they can't see you, they spawn in and run to where you are to engage.
3. I think they can climb over it. Sorry but I've never checked or seen it, so I can't help you there.
4. The thievery is legitimate. Some bandits can spawn with a "robber" trait, and while I don't know exactly how it works (like when they decide to rob you) I know they do actually enter your base and try to loot and steal. You can disable this behavior in the "Bandits General" sandbox tab.

Thank you for your reply, it is very helpful. For large and small modules, this kind of investigation often takes time to verify. Of course, thank you again.
