What's New In Patch 2?
Patch 2 introduces:
  • New "heavy weapons" which slow your movement to hold or wear, and have high skill requirements to wield without stunning yourself and injuring your arms. Wearing an exosuit will negate the movement speed penalty and the skill requirement to prevent stunning and injuring yourself.
  • New exosuits. The existing exosuit has been nerfed slightly to give room to make the other exo variants shine as better diverse alternatives. There are plenty of exos with different stats and playstyles, including some with unique abilities.
  • New "prestige talents" which unlock exos and heavy weapons, unlocked after finishing any talent tree for your job and reaching at least level 7.
  • Minor talent changes (namely Gauss Who and Warlord)
  • A new NPC who shows up around mid-campaign to possibly sell you some new exosuits.

Why can't I see the new talents?

I know it's not ideal being able to see the talent beforehand but this way it will not increase your experience cost for other talents (because it doesn't cause or grant another level, and believe me, Barotrauma's talent code is really restrictive so this wound up being the best option). Because you can't see what you unlock, this page will tell you what you will unlock, as well as where to find various other exosuits throughout the world.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Rebalanced/Changed Things
  • HMG removed from Warlord and replaced with new LMG as well as new crafting recipe for Grenade Launcher
  • Gauss Who removed from Mechanic and replaced with "Good Luck Magnet" which has a chance to find extra loot in wrecks as well as a chance to deal extra damage on any attack.
  • HMG has had its ammo capacity slowed, its fire rate slowed, and its damage, armor penetration and severance increased. Overall it should be a slight DPS increase to make up for the fact that it is a heavy weapon with a high skill requirement
  • Grenade Launcher has been given a crafting recipe and added to the Warlord talent
  • Gauss Rifle had its stats slightly tweaked to be in line with other heavy weapons and was given to Engineer
  • Mudhammer Torpedo was also tweaked to be more in line with other heavy weapons and was given to Captain
  • Added some new items to the loot pool of the Viperling, Latcher and Charybdis which is used for the crafting of some new items
  • All exosuits allow you to drag targets at full speed.

Assistant

Assistant Exosuit
Unlocked by prestige talent. Has slightly slower movement speed because it is meant to haul a lot of items. Also has relatively low armor because of its small frame (given that half of it is cargo space). It has about 7 inventory slots that hold small or medium items, as well as three slots that can hold medium containers, like toolbelts, backpacks, or storage containers.

Industrial Sledgehammer
Unlocked by prestige talent. A massive hammer that is entirely impossible to use without wearing an exosuit. Hitting something with it while not wearing an exosuit will stun you. It does a high amount of damage to structures and items and has a fairly high base damage with low attack speed.

Captain

Captain Exosuit
Unlocked by prestige talent. This exosuit has a built in sonar monitor with mineral scanner (that does drain the fuel slightly faster when active), and moves significantly faster when swimming than other exosuits.

Mudhammer Torpedo
Unlocked by prestige talent. A large heavy missile launcher that packs a punch both with the impact of its big heavy projectile as well as the explosive payload it packs.

Engineer

Engineer Exosuit
Unlocked by prestige talent. Has incredibly high stun resistance (partly to compensate for the fact that it seemed impossible to make the player unaffected by their own discharge coil). It also has a built in discharge coil to stun nearby enemies. The discharge coil's range does not get multiplied through walls (meaning you can't stun your entire sub with huge range when you press it).

Gauss Rifle
Unlocked by prestige talent. A slow to charge and fire burst rifle with very high base damage. Ammunition is relatively cheap to craft.

Mechanic

Mechanic Exosuit
Unlocked by prestige talent. Has moderate defense and slightly slow speed, but can disperse fixfoam from grenades efficiently, increasing the amount of use you get out of them, as well as increases your repair speed and increases the maximum repair condition you can repair devices to.

Rivet Shotgun
Unlocked by prestige talent. Fires a large amount of projectiles with high armor penetration for a shotgun and a decent amount of damage. Ammunition is cheap, but the weapon requires a welding tank to fire.

Medical Doctor

Medic Exosuit
Unlocked by prestige talent. Has fast movement speed and light armor. It has an oxygenite air compressor which can refill up to two oxygen tanks at a time (which can synergize well with the spine rifle).

Spine Rifle
A rifle that fires shards of spineling spines or small steel splinters, sharp enough and with enough force to tear through flesh and hull. The metal projectiles are slightly better and have more penetration, and can also be poisoned with morbusine to be like the viperling spines. Requires an oxygen tank to fire.

Security

Security Exosuit
Unlocked by prestige talent. A slow but durable exosuit with storage for weapons/ammo. It also boosts your firerate with firearms and turrets.

Autocannon
Unlocked by prestige talent. A big fully automatic cannon that fires 20mm explosive shells at a moderate pace for a great deal of damage.

LMG
Unlocked from talent Warlord. A replacement to the original HMG, it offers faster firing rate, higher mag capacity but lower base damage, severance and penetration. Ultimately it should still have a high DPS, close to on par with the HMG, and moderate skill requirement, as well as a suppressor to reduce enemy hearing range on your shots.

Monster Exosuits
All of these have increased swim speed

Watcher Exosuit
Recipe sold by Travelling Mech Merchant. Crafted from watcher shell fragments, this exosuit requires oxygen to breath still, but is powered by sulphuric acid. It can also use dementonite to create your own "Watcher's Gaze" which debuffs enemies' health and speed and drives people around you insane.

Latcher Exosuit
Recipe sold by Travelling Mech Merchant. Crafted with new resources dropped by Latchers.
The latcher body has no way to hold items in its hands (or lack thereof), and produces no light, but grants thermal vision with its excellent eyesight. It can also fire its large teeth to pierce flesh and hulls.

Charybdis Exosuit
Recipe sold by Travelling Mech Merchant. Crafted with new resources dropped by Charybdis. It has the ability to burn fuel slightly faster to grant you a burst of increased movement speed and attack speed. Has moderately high defenses.

Endworm Exosuit
Recipe sold by Travelling Mech Merchant. Crafted with shell fragments from endworms. The most durable exosuit, at the cost of movement speed.

Fractal Exosuit
Schematic found in ruins chest loot pools. You must find a puzzle cube and decipher it with an Alien Translator. Lightweight and light on protection, it uses alien power cells for fuel instead of fuel rods. It does not provide light, but does provide thermal vision for the wearer. It can burn through fuel rapidly to emit an EMP.

Other Exosuit Variants

Rusted Exosuit
Can be rarely found at wrecks on corpses. Moves much slower than a regular exosuit, but can be cleaned up and turned into a regular exosuit when crafted with ethanol.

Advanced Exosuit
Recipe sold by Travelling Mech Merchant. Has lower armor in exchange for higher movement speed and better fuel efficiency. Can be painted different colors at the fabricator with paint.

Crystalline Exosuit
Recipe sold by Travelling Mech Merchant. Made of rock and stone, this exosuit protects you against bites from enemies, harming any monster who tries to attack you with its jagged crystal exterior.

Barsuk Exosuit
Recipe found rarely in wreck storage. Similar to the Captain exosuit, it has built in sonar and moves much faster in water, albeit slightly slower than the captain exosuit, and it burns fuel faster than most exos.

I think that's everything.
