Guide To Secrets And Easter Eggs
Every patch I tend to add one or two secrets or Easter Eggs. Some can be regularly encountered in the game, causing some confusion as to what they are, and some are more obscure. In this guide I will be revealing all the secrets so you can show your friends or play around with the goofy things I've added. If I'm forgetting any, let me know. I will try to keep updating as I add more secrets.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Shrimple 🦐

- If you come across an "Old Genetics Vial," combine it with a small crawler egg from a crawler brood mother to get a new pet egg. This pet is a reference to the legacy crawler, which used to be a shrimp (hence using a crawler egg and old genetics). It passively produces Unidentified Genetic material and consumes universal pet food, monster food, and corpses.

Pepperbox Pistol

- Since the prototype Steam cannon lost its uniqueness status and became a standard craftable talent weapon, I decided to add a new unique weapon to take its place in the loot pool, which is why the Pepperbox Pistol was added. It can shoot four revolver shots at once and is fairly fun and powerful.

Barsuk Exosuit

- A hidden exosuit recipe that performs similarly to the Captain's exosuit, found often in wrecks or pirate ships.

Fractal Exosuit / Alien Puzzle Cube

- If you come across an alien puzzle cube, it needs a cipher to solve it. You need to find the vanilla item called "???" that looks like an alien translation disc, and insert that into the cube's inventory to let you solve the cube. Upon solving it (pressing the button) you will be rewarded with the fractal exosuit blueprint which is similar to the engineer exosuit but it uses alien power cells and has an EMP.

Shelly

- A bit of an inside joke and request from my partner, if you insert dementonite inside a regular railgun shell, it will become a sentient bouncing railgun named "Shelly." They eat metals, the same as Orange Boy, and they produce regular rail gun shells, canister shells, and on rare occasions physicorium shells. They have high health and resistance but are vulnerable to EMP.

Exoboy

- Drag an Orange Boy egg over a regular exosuit and drop it into a hidden inventory slot to create "Exoboy," a pet orange boy in an exosuit. Doesn't do much special, and eats the same food as Orange boy, but creates FPGA circuits instead of chitin. Also, they are vulnerable to EMP.

Eternal Banana

- Most seeds, when combined with themselves at a research station, will yield nothing but the seed you started with. Bananas, hoever, are a bit different. Combine a banana with a banana at a research station to yield the "Eternal Banana" which is a banana you can eat forever.

Thalamus Genetics

- Combine Cell Matter with a Genetic Mistake in a research station to get Thalamus genetics. Cell Matter is a new resource obtainable from the new factions added by the mod, from Thalamus cell spawners, or by deconstructing Unidentified Genetic Material in a standard deconstructor. Genetic Mistake is resource obtained from a failed combination of pet eggs or plant seeds that aren't genetically compatible. The research station will tell you if the combination is unstable, yielding a Genetic Mistake. The finished product is a gene that will grant you adrenaline upon taking a small amount of damage (the amount of adrenaline scales with quality).

I had to change the name for compatibility with another mod. It worked when I tried it but I'll check again in a bit and see if I can fix it.
