Suggestion - Training
Something great would be to have a deploy location be called 'training'. It'd be somewhere you can test your weapons against both vacant and AI-occupied vehicles to test your effectiveness.

If, for example, a custom 5x HMG Strider isn't AI-controllable, then perhaps 5 AI-controlled HMG Striders would be the way to go (or 1 unarmed strider with 5 AI-controlled tripod-mounted .50 cal turrets) and you work out whether or not you can destroy one of them.

When destroyable props/building parts come in an update, perhaps respawning building parts within the training area would be a good idea too to see what armour they provide.

Maybe all that 'training' could be is one of 8 spawnable locations (or sectioned zones within one location so people don't attack each other) where the player is granted Zeus abilities.

--------------------------

Either way, just thought I'd share a concept I thought of.
Hope it wasn't too confusing.

That's a really neat idea Coif. Early on I was considering a 'proving ground' of sorts for exactly the situation you described, but I totally overlooked using AI as targets. If the AI is selectable it could be a good way of being able to choose what you test your weapons against.

I'll definitely see if this can be implemented although for proper moving targets it'll probably be once i've sorted how to get bots to take control of these creations properly.

Random thought: add an extra 8 slots/whatever the name is for the places in the lobby that are labelled as training.

These 8 slots are all squad leader and you have control over AI. These slots spawn you in one of 8 locations on the map/one of 8 separated zones on the map where your AI squad will be waiting.

Alternatively, just make all current 8 slots squad leaders of 8 small AI squads that you only interact with (or only have to) when you deploy at the training zone(s).

You use typical Arma 3 AI controls to tell them to get into the vehicle of your choice. Then you get them to hold position, drive away and engage.

What I forgot to mention: the training area will have the typical build-a-vehicle signs as you have currently with access to your normal vehicle collection -- and perhaps example vehicles laying around that can't be taken out of a certain area -- only driven within a fenced area (for example).

As far as getting them to fire custom weapons on vehicles... *shrugs* unless you were to have an invulnerable/shielded AI sitting on the top of a vehicle with a .50 cal turret, rocket launcher, etc.
