AI Control Switch Description Thread - Please Read
Badlands AI Battlefield features my AI control switches system which allows you to customize which AI squads spawn in on the map. These switches can be enabled or disabled as many times as you wish throughout your session. Also included are “Quick Response Force” switches inside each main base, which when pressed will call back the initially placed AI squads at the beginning of the round. Keep reading below to learn the locations of the controllers, and how to use them.

**Before we continue** - please be careful with all of these AI controls you have. Having too many deployed on map at once can lead to AI intelligence loss and game engine instability. Consider not having all switches, plus the QRF switches, all used at once.

All main AI Switches are located in the underground section below the center partially buried structure. You can access this room via the teleporter in each base, as well as the automated door near the surface in the map’s center. Human controllers feature a green flashing light when disabled and ready for activation. They turn solid yellow once enabled. Covenant switches flash purple when disabled and ready to be toggled on. They turn a pinkish-red that stays solid once enabled. Both faction’s controllers feature custom information text that describes which squad you are about to toggle on or off.

Inside each main base, there are switches that call in a faction appropriate quick response force near the rear entrance. The UNSC has one, the Covenant have two. If you feel like one side is being overwhelmed or the battle isn’t chaotic enough for you, press these buttons and their corresponding AI will spawn instantly near the base. Once all members of that squad have been lost, the switch will automatically revert back to OFF. You can now use that QRF switch again.




UNSC Main Switches:

Marine Drop (Defaults to ON) - Pelican deployed Marines. Squad of 10 troops. They can be deployed at one of three different randomly selected locations. These Marines carry randomly picked UNSC weapons, with power weapons selected less commonly. This squad can also potentially arrive with a Mongoose vehicle for support. The mongoose passenger comes with a randomly selected weapon.

ODST Drop (Defaults to OFF) - Pelican deployed ODST’s. A squad of 4 troopers deployed each time to one of three randomly selected drop locations. They feature ODST themed weapons with higher chances of receiving power weapons.

Elite Drop (Defaults to ON) - Arbiter’s separatist Elite forces, allied with the UNSC. Deploys 4 Elites of random ranks. Dropped from a green Phantom to one of three randomly selected locations. They arrive with Elite favored weapons. Can also be deployed with a Ghost or Spectre support vehicles. These Elites can also be deployed as Ranger airborne units. This is all randomized.

Scorpion Tank (Defaults to OFF) - A UNSC Scorpion tank spawned in the rear of the UNSC base.

Warthog (Defaults to ON) - UNSC Warthog support spawned near the UNSC base rear. Chaingun variant that has a small chance of being upgraded to a Gauss version.

Mongoose (Defaults to ON) - UNSC Mongoose support, spawned near the UNSC base. Passenger comes with a randomly selected weapon.






Covenant Main Switches:


Light Forces Drop (Defaults to ON) - A mix of Grunts and Jackals. 12-15 in total. Can also be just one or the other. Determined randomly. Can be deployed to one of three drop locations. Grunts can come with Fuel Rod Cannons. Jackals can come as Snipers. All troops feature appropriate gear for their species and class. All chosen randomly.

Brute Drop (Defaults to ON) - A Brute pack of 8 members, dropped at one of three random locations. Brutes can deploy as all types, including Infantry, Captains, Jump Packs, and Chieftains. All feature appropriate gear for their class and role. Can also deploy with a bonus Ghost/Chopper support vehicle. Selected randomly.

Hunter Drop (Defaults to ON) - Two Hunter heavy assault troops. Deployed at one of two randomly selected dropoff locations.

Prowler Deployment (Defaults to ON) - A Brute controlled Prowler. Crew of three. Spawns near the Covenant base rear.

Scout Vehicle Deployment (Defaults to OFF) - A Covenant controlled Ghost or Chopper, determined randomly. Spawns near the Covenant base.

Wraith Deployment (Defaults to ON) - A Wraith tank. Crew of two. Spawns near the Covenant base rear.

Scarab Tank Spawn (Defaults to OFF) - A Scarab heavy assault tank. Spawns on the Covenant’s cliffs.

It does work. The Scarab has a cooldown of 5-8 minutes. It would be kind of stupid to have it respawn a few seconds or even a minute after killing it, so I have it arriving in at longer intervals. After you turn the button on, the cooldown timer starts.

Now that I think about it, it makes sense to have it on a timer, it was just longer cuz I was alt-tabbing and it was pausing the game.
Any way we could play with/against Heroic or Legendary difficulty AIs instead of normal ones?

This is really something I’d love to do with all my H3 mods. However I have not found a way to change the difficulty in the multiplayer environment. I have tried on and off for a long time now and have yet to be successful. Hopefully someday either me or someone else will discover how to do it.
