Faction and Unit Design
Race:{Thoughts}
Norsca is in a weird place from a design standpoint. They didn't have an army book so alot of their units are ripped from the Warriors of Chaos. They didnt really have their own niche ether or design focus and pretty much came off as Warriors of Chaos 'lite'. Because of all the DLC content the Warriors of Chaos have gotten access to, do to the Chaos God Factions (Khorne,Nurgle,Slannesh,Tzeetch) getting more flushed out, the disparity between Norsca and its other contemporary factions is kinda hard to ignore.

Race: {The Fix}
With most of the Norscan units having the "Rage" ability, the race having access to a unit called "Berserkers". Throggs whole shtick of "I'm King of Beasts" and a whole mechanic based on Hunting. I kinda figured their design focus shoulda been on centered around creatures, beasts, hunters and pure aggression. And it sorta seems like they where going for that but didn't pull the trigger all the way. The 'light bulb' moment was when I realized they didn't even have access to the Lore of Beasts. For the Race with Werewolves and the (self proclaimed) "The King of Beasts" that's pretty silly. So than the solution was simple. Add more beasts, plus more units and effects that promote and reward an aggressive play-style.


Faction :Wulfrick:
Wulfrick is the epitome of what makes a man successful in Norsca. A ruthless hunter, uncompromising warrior and pragmatic leader. I wanted him to focus more on the 'savage human' element of Norsca and whats more human and savage then loving big guns and watching your enemies head explode from a well placed shot. (Think Ork Flashgits) While Norsca wouldnt really be able to manufacture them. With Wulfrick being a big game hunter and professional raider, it only makes sense that he would well accustomed to looting them from the more industrialized cultures of the old world.

*:Marauders: (Looted Pistols):* Hybrid Marauder unit that can fire inaccurately while moving.

*:Marauder Hunters (Looted Rifles):* Marauder rifle unit that's decent in melee.

*:Marauder Ice Wolves Chariots (Looted Bunderbuss):* Boomsticks and Wolves for good close quarters combat.

*:Marauder Chariots (Looted Rifles):* Rifles on chariots for good skirmishing.

*:Marauder Champions (Looted Rifles):* Tier 3 Troops with heavy armor and rifles.

*:War Mammoth (Looted Blunderbuss):* Great for killing masses of infantry.

*:War Mammoth (Looted Rifles):* Great for sniping large single entities and flying units.

Faction :Throgg:
Throgg is the "King of Beasts" but the only thing more empty than his title is his unit selection. In order to help justify his crown I wanted to add more types of trolls and an actual Beastmen to his roster. These along with all the creatures units that Norsca gets as a whole really help Throgg's theme as a Monster leading an army of other monsters.


*:Cygor:* They get artillery now.

*:Gor Herd:* Vanguard Infantry to support all the Vanguard beast units.

*:Ungor Raiders:* Vanguard Ranged infantry to support all the Vanguard beast units.

*:Ungor Spearmen:* (Shields) Vanguard anti-large infantry to support all the Vanguard beast units.

*:Razorgor Herd:* Wild Boars are actually a big problem in my state, they should be in my game.

*:River Trolls:* Why doesn't Throgg have access to these already in vanilla?

*:Stone Trolls:* Why doesn't Throgg have access to these already in vanilla?


Faction :Norsca as a whole:
Needed more access to a larger variety of beasts and creatures along with more tools to promote more aggressive tactics.

*:Shaman-Sorcerer (Beast):* The inspiration for this entire project, he can turn into a Skin Wolf and still cast magic, so you get magical werewolves now.

*:Thralls:* Meat-Shield: "Where there's a whip there's a way." Every good rush faction needs meat-shields to help close the gap.

*:Gorebeasts:* Chaos Gorillas. Trolls but faster, armored and more aggressive. This comes at the cost of the ability to regenerate. {Throgg adds this to Gorebeasts through his special Skill line ^^}

*:Marauder Horsemen (Dual Axes):* Melee Cavalry for killing infantry units.

*:Feral Bears:* "Well, that's just great. You hear that, Ed? Bears. Now you're putting the whole mod load order in jeopardy." Melee Cavalry for killing large units.

*:Feral Ice Bears:* Stronger, beefier, cooler, Melee Cavalry for killing large units.

*:Sabretusk Pack:* Some cute cats.

*:Giant Wolves:* Some cute dogs.

*:Norscan Hunting Hawks:* Some cute birds. Basically 'Fell Bats'. Great scouts and harassing ranged units. Another staple unit type for factions that wanna get in close.

*:Wyvern:* Why doesn't Norsca have access to this already in vanilla?

*:War Mammoth (Slaanesh):* Fast & fabulous Mammoth with magic javelins and vanguard that is immune to terrain penalties.

*:War Mammoth (Khorn):* Angry Mammoth with magic javelins that regenerates while in combat and can attack walls.

*:War Mammoth (Tzeentch):* Blueberry Mammoth with magic javelins, magic barrier and magical damage aura.

*:War Mammoth (Nurgle):* "Oh brother this guys STINKS!" - Fred the Fish
Immune to contact effects with an AOE Debuff aura and magic javelins.


:RoR
*:Great Roc (Giant Eagle):* Slightly larger Frost Phoenix without the magic.

*:Alpha Beast (Gorebeast):* Dude just look at the picture, I wouldn't want to fight it.

*:Man-Eaters of Tsavo (Sabretusk Pack):* Sometimes real life is scarier than fiction.

*:Kurgan Steppe Screamers (Marauder Horsemen - Dual Axes):* {Mongolian throat singing intensifies.}

*:Skaeling Ice Tooth Pirates:* (Marauder Hunter - Looted Blunderbuss) Viking-Pirates, need I say more?

:Building Effects:
Simple stuff. Lowering the levels of the Creature Chain lowers their units opportunity cost by making them available earlier an thus more useful. I wanted to buff the economy but still make it reliant on aggressive actions. So now as you build more economy buildings, your raids and looting will be more lucrative and scale as you capture more territory. Norsca's base economy is still ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ but now its ability to steal from other economies can balance it out to compensate. (hopefully)

Fur Stash (+1% to all building income faction wide)
Beast Tanner (+2% to all building income faction wide)
Slaver's Camp (+3% to all building income faction wide)
Loot Pile (+20% income to raiding in adjacent provinces) (+2% income to sacking settlements faction wide)
Trophies of Battle (+35% income to raiding in adjacent provinces) (+4% income to sacking settlements faction wide)
Plunder Hall (+50% income to raiding in adjacent provinces) (+6% income to sacking settlements faction wide)
