Basilisk Hunter Notes
Hunter Notes:
The Basilisk is a sadistic creature that primarily hunts easy prey. It hails from a world far worse than this, where mankind's greatest achievement is survival. As an omnivore it does not need to eat meat; rather, through a twist of the creature's malign intelligence, it sees human skulls as trophies, using the proliferation of such to prove dominance and virility to the pack.

Through my encounters with Basilisks, I have noticed certain habits of the animal. I leave this to assist all after:
>Torch. Though the creature prefers the dark, it cannot snuff out your light. Bring torches and keep the light bright once the creature has been engaged. This will prevent it from gaining the advantages found in the dark.
>Healing. The Basilisk's gaze will always paralyze one of the hunting party; thus, you must not trust your lives to only one healer. Having at least one other that can heal will significantly increase your odds.
>Fatigue. The Basilisk can molt, shedding its skin and healing itself. There are limits to this, however, as the creature can only do this twice a day. The Basilisk, moreover, also weakens itself each time it molts, making it easier to bleed and hinder.
>Hindering. The Basilisk is a hasty creature; thus, reducing its accuracy, even slightly, will see far fewer of its attacks connect. Its gaze, however, can never be dodged.
>Retreat. Though the Basilisk is an agile creature, it cannot prevent your withdrawal. Be discrete. If the battle is turning against you, retreat and try another day.
