To prevent me from spamming the comments section, I am just going to create a bug/suggestion thread. For everyone else, feel free to list bugs and suggestions to keep the comments section nice a tidy.

Bugs?:

If I understand correctly, believers are supposed to spawn with an item, but they don't seem to spawn with one at all. Same with true believers, if they are supposed to spawn with an item.

Similar problem as Red_Comrade00: Sacred Mountain spawns neutral tomb, I send soldiers to fight the tomb, but nothing happens.

Are angels supposed to be able to take my bowmen with them? I have some bowmen guarding a tower, and then a descended angel comes and takes them with them.

When my crusade attacked a fortified hoburg, the hoburgers had a flagellent named 'AI' with the description 'One of us.One of us. One of us.' Is this part of an actual mechanic in the mod, or is this some kind of debug unit? Happened a second time as well, with a Burgmann attacking the fortified hoburg with an 'AI' unit with him.

Suggestions:

Maybe give the priests access to 'Answering Prayers,' 'Granting Miracles,' and the 'Coerce' line of rituals?

Give crusades access to the new crusader units instead of the basic ones?

Bastions of Faith & Tombs should be fixed / errors should have been fixed with the latest updates.

As for stupid commanders (ex: angels) sometimes taking your units,
that is base game behavior that can't be modded/fixed,

"AI" are an internal balancing mechanism given to all "AI" as part of PVE_Base, another similar unit is "EG",

They allow us to tune AI difficulty & recruitments for all our classes so they don't underperform.

Ex: the EG tag allows AI to replace commanders more easily in the first few turns of the game in case they had all of them die in the stupidest ways possible (Like leaving their starting armies sitting in their home citadel with commanders venturing out alone with no units and immediately dying to some deer/bandits being left with no commanders)

As for your suggestions.
They are impossible due to lacking mod support that I have been asking to be improved to no avail for over 666 days. Hopefully COE6 resolves a lot of these issues.

To clarify, The Voice of El in base game does not use or have ANY rituals, they have "Ceramonies" - read the in game GUI for proof, so you cannot edit or access them in any way shape or form. And I can not give the base game voice of el priests any new ceremonies or
rituals.


I did not want to toss the cool base game voice of el content and so this voice of el operates in conjunction with it. Ex: your priest as in base game can break seals, bless units, convert settlements for cheaper but costs action points, and cause stupid commander angels to come down to assist you. But your other commanders have rituals that work in conjunction with this, being able to convert settlements for 0 action points but being a more expensive ritual, constructing your new bastions of faith, Capturing the stupid commanders base game sends you with cooerce judgement and making them player-controllable commanders, and of course dealing the dungeon content (sacred tombs).

Thanks for the answers and fixes, khjgames! If I may make a suggestion in regards to stupid commanders taking my units: Would it be possible to make a separate crusader bowmen and crossbowmen with the stationary trait? That way, we can have someone guard our fortifications without being worried about them wandering off with an angel.

The only ways to implement such a feature would be creating a duplicate unit with stationary, then promoting / replacing existing units from your army with that stationary unit, Which would mean a new ritual specifically for that purpose and a new ritual for undoing it, which would also heal and remove all wounds from said units, basically the act of adding or removing stationary is extremely clunky. And if you were to make stationary units a recruitment, they would then only be usable as defenders in the citadel you recruited them meaning mines, or any other location of interest you wanted to defend would still have the exact same problem.

I cannot think of a feasible solution to that problem.

Any time I've played with this mod, I've gotten the following error a couple years in: Error in Mod '***/PVE_Voice_of_El.c5m' at line 1623. Mod command 'copyspr' did nothing. Quit, Disable all mods. I also haven't seen my bastian of faith upgrade even once, where the guide says it should be doing so every 7 turns?

I would love to fix that for you asap, and clarify the conditions for this, for now I'm going to assume the copyspr command just likes to randomly break when you use it for items so I'm going to try
using custom item sprites instead. Please let me know if that fixes it. Thanks.

Finally got back around to having the time to test it! Sorry it took so long. Same issue is cropping up, but this time it is just saying mod command 'spr' did nothing. Still pointing at the same file and the same line of that file. Also still not getting any upgrades on the bastion of faith.

Mod list is currently:
PVE Architect
PVE Base
PVE Primal Core
PVE Voice of El
PVE World &Items
PVE Quality of life overhaul
Succubus by Helan. (Succubus has been omitted in a test, with no difference)

I have also attempted it with the full PVE suite, without the hacker mod, same issue arises.

It would be very helpful to know what mode you are encountering this issue in ->
|A| Singleplayer,
|B| Illwinter Game Lobby multiplayer, Or

(or perhaps a combination of the 3 / all 3)


For now I am confused this error has never happened with PVE_Base and is only occurring within PVE_Voice_of_El as they use identical code and structure for all of their items so if anything it should be erroring in base before reaching voice of el, but since that is mysteriously working and hasn't broke. I'm going to attempt moving all the items from voice of el into base and pray that it magically fixes item creation errors for no apparent reason whatsoever.

Just finished a singleplayer test, 7 years in, no issues now. Bastians upgrading as expected as well. I'll hopefully be able to do a multiplayer test tonight.

Hm. Ran a solo Connect to ip game (Own computer hosted) and it came across another new one, but same style of error, this time in PVE_Base.c5m at line 1631. mod command descr did nothing. I'm available on the CoE5 discord if you want to discuss it further, I'm willing to try to help narrow it down as best I can, but I'm no modder.

Ok, I changed the mod to remove VOE item sprites, so now they look like swords BUT, I ran a solo connect to IP game, got 50+ turns in, fully leveled bastion of faith, completed a dungeon run, and there are no errors. So If you still run into item creation errors after this (1.09c) update. We'll try stuff on discord.
