I need your help!
Hey everyone,

For those interested, I would like your opinions on a few things.

  • The Extended Soundtrack - I have finished assembling this, and am preparing it for release (making the release banner image right now) but it weighs in at a whopping 180MB. I'm not sure if Steam will accept it as-is, so I need to decide whether to split it into two smaller mods or not.

Upsides are that it will all be handled through Steam with update notifications going out properly if I ever tweak it, as well as pretty stats for me to look at.
Downsides are that it will be more mods you will need to subscribe to, and, well, Steam. I'm not sure if players even want to bother subscribing multiple times to get one mod, or if they'd prefer to just keep it all together.

Alternatively, I can say screw Steam altogether for the Soundtrack, and just stick it in a DDL link somewhere. What do you guys think?

  • Alternate Artwork - There exists in my icon atlases two "alternate" unit icons for the Great Wolf and Guild Merchant, but they are not currently used. I could provide a method to swap in this (and other) artwork in the future, allowing greater customizability if desired. However, doing this will require moving/replacing files in the MODS folder.

Are players interested in doing this, or do you guys largely wishing to just play the game and not muck with stuff?

Please let me know what you guys think about these.

As well, if you enjoy playing with my Civ, please consider rating it up and spreading the word!
I'll be advertising my Civ on the CivFanatics forum, but I'm not really active anywhere else so I'm not sure if there might be better places to reach players who would enjoy playing this Civ.

Thanks!

Well, for the time being I think I've decided on splitting the Soundtrack up into two mods.
Hopefully no one minds the extra subscription they have to go through too much.

Still undecided on making the Alternate Artwork available, although for the moment I've no real desire to change anything. I may feel more pressured to make Alternate Artwork selectable once I have more Artwork available to choose between.

In other words, I need more art!

Soundtrack is great! Wonderfull to just listen to. Personaly, I don't think you need Alternate Artwork yet, you could even set it aside for a little bit if you want. Of course, it' all up to you, hope it all goes well! Quick question: where are you getting your art? Google?

Thank you!

I haven't heard anyone really desiring alternate artwork as of yet, so I'll hold off a bit more. For now at least there's only the two unit icons. At some point I may throw in more leader screen images and other stuff.

As far as where I got all my art.. believe it or not, a vast majority of the images were screenshots from the Anime! I simply edited them pretty heavily in Photoshop.
The Wolf units especially were a huge pain. They came from very gray images, since the only scenes they appeared were toward the end of the Ruvinheigen arc, and it was raining pretty heavily.

Past that, I did get a few images from some image/wallpaper sites and edited those down.
I put a lot of effort into every aspect, haha.
