start as a wingless infant noodlefly that can walk on the ground. walk on walls (not background walls) and climb poles
you will quickly grow into an adult noodlefly as each cycle passes (about 3 cycles) until you unlock your needle ability. but its different. instead of ramming to creatures to attack, you will be able to shoot your needle (able to ram into creatures too for more damage but if you miss you will get stuck)
controls:
hold jump to pull back snout and reveal needle (it is toggleable)
press throw while needle is revealed to shoot needle (can shoot in every direction)
hold jump and then hold a movement key to ram
shooting will give foodpips (due to umbilical cord attached to it)
ramming will also give foodpips
you can eat and swallow items as the noodleling by simply shoving it down your snout (holding grab, like usual)
you can hold up to 4 items in your hand thingys (not sure what to call them) but it will slow down your movement speed (and ram speed) the more you hold since you use them to walk
its basically a wingless noodlefly that can shoot its needles
you will also grow your needles back in about a second after shooting
a genetic abomination created by an iterator out of spite, as it was created to eradicate the species it mimics
it mostly plays like a normal slugcat, although it would twitch, devoid of blinking. it would be a redish green in color with a violence symbol on its forehead
once you press the "special" key it reveals its true nature
it would split open, head to toe, like a forbidden fleshy kinderegg container. multiple tentacles would emerge from its newly formed maw, each resembling a slim, trimmed monster kelp. in this state it would play similar to the rot, direction key + jump = movement tentacle, however instead of simple unfolding, each limb would hang out, making it look like a torn cloak. grabbing things also works like the rot, but with 3 tentacles to do so (moves around with 4 and has 7 tentacles total). instead of killing things via brute force like the rot though, it would wrap its tentacles around prey and crush its bones like a boa constrictor, and then it would feast with a lanky proboscis that looks more like a hairy noodlefly (of which also had a VERY bad hair day), and suck out the blood of its victim. its ultimate goal is to wipe out slugcats, as mentioned earlier, however you COULD do a good ending kinda thing and not kill any at all (you'd only trigger the bad ending by killing and consuming slugpups that spawn and going to outer expanse, where you end off the gourmand campaign). also did i mention that you can just press special again to revert back into its less monstrous form?
creative.
the polder is a pole plant, EXCEPT it can unroot itself from a den by holding jump. the polder will then have a 30 second timer until it dies, and going back into a den resets the timer and you cannot unroot yourself again for 5 seconds. you cannot eat outside of dens (obviously) but you can still grab things by holding the grab button and using movement keys, and it will grab the creature closest. the grab controls will be the same inside a den
the polders death countdown will reset when going into a shelter. also you cannot sleep in dens, only shelters
also the polders legs will be little black nubs. 4 of them
the polder will have blue leaves instead of red leaves
creatures will ignore you when pretending to be a pole in a den
you can walk on walls (not background walls tho) and ceilings to make den access easier. this can also be used to avoid enemies as you have no way to defend yourself (other than grabbing creatures) outside of dens
you can only hold creatures outside of dens for 5 seconds before being forced to let go
you will have a silly animation when going through tunnels where you bend your stalk to fit inside
the animation is purely visual and your hitbox will be gone like usual
you cannot crouch but your stalk will automatically bend to fit in places
you can fit anywhere a slugcat can like usual
your diet is the same as a regular pole plants
your strength is the same as a pole plant when grabbing but your strength is significantly decreased when grabbing outside of a den
you cannot eat fruit
eating a creature will give the same food pips it would normally
batflys give 1 food pip despite you being a carnivore
when you unroot yourself from a den you will jump too
you cannot climb poles. you have no arms
you can only grab 1 thing at a time
you let go of stuff pressing x
you cannot throw spears obviously
the polder will look the same as a pole plant except with blue leaves and 4 little black nubs at the bottom of its stem
your leaves only reveal when you grab a creature inside a den or while outside a den
your leaves hide when you sleep in a shelter
the yeelak
a genetically modified yeek that can jump like a yeek and do other yeek things........
EXCEPT
the yeelak has a patch of worm grass growing from its back that it uses to eat and camouflage
the yeelak is omnivorious and has survivor/monk diet
controls:
z to jump. hold z to do a yeek jump
hold the down movement key to dig yourself into the ground and camouflage
hold grab while near food to make your worm grass stretch out and eat the food. you can also do this mid-air to grab high up food
hold special key to run
after camouflaging. the yeelak will atuomatically change the color of the worm grass on its back to either black or red (default is red) to match the worm grass in the region or other worm grass nearby
when the yeelak is camouflaged the worm grass on its back will pretend to try to grab a creature but will not actually grab it
the yeelak cant eat while camouflaged
the yeelak can store non-food items in its stomach like a slugcat by trying to eat it. the item can be spat back out by holding grab again
the yeelak can jump to avoid predators and get to high places
appearance:
the yeelak is a black yeek with red worm grass growing from its back that can change color to match other worm grass like previously mentioned
the yeelak has red eyes and the regular yeek tails except the color is black but it keeps the red markings like usual
the yeelak also has 2 long worm grass antennae sticking out from its forehead. these antennae are purely visual and serve 0 purpose
you knew i was gonna make a yeek custom character some day
i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love yeeks
the grubling
like the name suggests. you are a vulture grub. EXCEPTTTTT
you have dark spider-like legs but you are smaller than a vulture grub. you are weak but fast and quick. you can shoot a yellow laser into the sky that calls down a vulture. if your laser is obstructed by something the laser will turn red and fail to call a vulture. if you move while trying to call a vulture the chances of calling a vulture will continuously go down, but if you stop moving the chances will go back up. you can climb on walls and ceilings, not background walls tho
vultures will ignore you but if you call down vultures repeatedly they will become hostile and attempt to attack you, but after a while they will become passive again and ignore you
scavengers will attack you on sight (artificer reputation)
you have no way of gaining reputation with scavengers
if a scavenger sees you and has no weapons on them they will back into a corner and shiver in fear or try to run away if possible
you cannot hold things, no arms
you can climb poles like usual
since your small you can fit into places a slugcat cannot
you are faster in tunnels
you have no way of defending yourself other than calling vultures
controls:
press special to call a vulture. press special again to cancel
jump to leap (its like parasites leap except no windup)
hold jump to do a longer leap
appearance:
you are a smaller but longer vulture grub. you have 6 spider legs that are bit of a darker color than your yellow body
story
you start out as a vulture grub with spider legs. but you slowly gain more attributes as a vulture as the cycles go on, such as; shoulder plates. body turning to black. wings
and after 20 cycles you become an adult vulture
soon a message appears at the bottom of your screen which says "go to shoreline."
but the more you ignore the message and dont go to shoreline your screen slowly become red and words flicker on your screen that say; "ACHIEVE YOUR DREAM." "GET. TO. THE. WATER." "GO TO SHORELINE."
and after you get to shoreline. you become no longer in control of yourself and you are forced to dive into the water. then a leviathan comes and eats you. and then the campaign ends
i headcanon that vulture grubs are baby vultures which is why you slowly grow into a vulture
