HOW TO THE ROT
this is a collection of tips and tricks for the rot! ill add more stuff as i play with this more, but i hope this guide helps you!

Tip 1: choose your targets wisely! snails are almost off limits unless you have 1 extra small cyst, so i would reccomend having at least 1 extra cyst at a time, because then you can swallow all small prey creatures (lampters, squidcadas, snails, etc.)

Tip 2: use mimicry! holding some objects (spears, pearls {but pearls kinda suck, all they do is make colored pearls when you eat things}, bombs, other stuff, theres a guide called "what can different items do for the rot" use that. If you hold the object next to you and press map, you will fuse it to you, making any EXTRA cysts take on special properties.

Tip 3: use cysts to slam. you can press grab on your cysts to detach them, and if you slam them they will DIE TO DEATH, and any on-cyst death effects will proc. best use case is grenades, because the explosion is instant.

TIP:4 CYST RECYCLE. if you detach cysts, yeah you get lighter, but you lose all that food :steamsad: well, if you beat your detached meat until it turns black and dies, you can absorb it like a corpse! getting your food back and disposing of the cyst!

tip 1: first, it's said in tutorial. second, not space, but Z if you are normal person (or what tf are you binded jump)
I personally keep my cysts count at 3 (big ones to be exact. why? because mobility). Usually 3 is enough to deal with most basic threats but if not, you can try to grab creature with movement tentacles because it gives a lot of additional power. (Some creatures will bite your tentacle so you have to grab them with multiple anyway, or try until they give up on biting it)
Don't forget about mimicking items: Spear ability is nice in tiny spaces and against Big Jellyfish, Electricity is nice to deal with something nearby (Dropwig can deal with you quite easy when your core is visible. But it's best to not let it come this close to you.) or getting rid of leeches (advice: do not use it underwater)
You can mix few abilities.
If you're dealing with centipede, it's best to hold one of it's heads so it won't be able to obliterate you. (Quite vital thing when dealing with Red Centipede, that thing will wreck you really easy).
Also even though Aquapede can't move on surface, it still can shock you if it connects heads.

early game, you can drown the scav merchant in the pool in to the left of the room for food - the merchantis almost immediately replaced, and can't see you if you approach from the left.

edit: ive only just realised you can slam...

well a problem with that is the tutorial says "lighter objects" which can make you think "oh i can only do it with holdable objects"
I think you should mention multigrab in tips: (It's a bit busted)
(Zero additional cysts)
Snail has no chance against two tentacles + holding Jump. (You can also grab it with tentacle and release Grab for moment, it brings held object close to you and snaps Snail latch. You can also just move in some direction for same thing).
You can even deal with most basic lizards if you grab them with four tentacles.

And in general it's quite forgiving to have one big cyst, (as I mentioned) in my experience you should stop at 3-4 big cysts (3 is best of both, you still get ok mobility and quite more power for tentacles) but if you do decide to have more... Then I recommend you learning how to quicly reposition your tentacles and preserving fall momentum to climb up. (My experience with The Wall wasn't nice because of this.)
Maybe also mention that you need to have at least one cyst to be able to mimic/absorb item.

i used wasd ',:3 because im left handed
also having six to seven normal cysts makes you unkillable to spears and quite strong while also being ok at mobility, iv never really used large cysts in my playthroughs unless i really wanna kill a red lizard

yoooo left handed frien :O
another tip:

If you are trying to kill a creature that is too heavy, and you cant lift it, try grabbing this creature, try to create as much distance from it as possible while still holding it, and then release the Hold key, and the creature is gonna be sling shotted on the walls
(another funny thing, its much easier to kill creatures when holding by their head, like Scavengers and Vultures)

How do you multigrab? It only lets me control one tentacle at a time.
@2Dfruity By extending your movement tentacles at some creature.
