i think whats missing(or im not finding after now few mission i tried around):
- selection spawn vehicle with/without units
- or maybe predefined group of tankers
- or if possible make it shift clickable to spawn multiple of selected?!
(really clicky atm to fill veh/emplacements)
- "get to the pre defined weather of the mission" button
- a way to select spawn direction of vehicles / emplacements
- remove debris / destroyed stuff button
- I've purposely removed the ability to spawn vehicles with infantry for now, as it would further increase the RAM requirements when loading missions. Perhaps in the future I will add the ability to choose how to spawn vehicles with or without infantry.
- Good point, but unfortunately the game engine itself does not support such actions
- About setting the weather in advance, I do not think that there is a great need for it, as the menu supports changing the weather already inside the mission. But I will think about it.
- Yes, I agree, it would be convenient, but unfortunately the game engine does not support it. Just in theory it may be possible (although I honestly doubt it), but it would require rewriting the entire code from scratch.
- As for deleting debris/destroyed stuff, I think I will add this feature in the next update.
Upd : added debris/destroyed stuff remove function
In addition to the air blast, the mod also includes a conventional artillery strike. The only problem is the 180mm artillery strike which doesn't want to work for some reason, but I hope to fix it soon.
I think a little later I will also implement the mine placement mechanics.
a 'change skin / camouflage ' button would be pretty cool. im not sure if there are any mods that do this rn and are compatible with this spawn menu.
Also- an additional option to delete a single unit vs the current delete all button
- I thought about the function of deleting a single unit even before publishing the mod to the Steam Workshop, but I didn't have time to implement it. I think in one of the next updates I will add this feature.
- As for changing camouflage for vehicles, then most likely this feature will also appear in the menu in the near future.
I know that it probably will take alot of work, I just wanted to mention it. Would be super nice.
Also the ability to max out the experience in units would be a fine addition.
Lastly and more importantly for me, I really like to see the Platoon commander, Company commander, Tank commander (Heer) and Tank man (Heer) added. Those units would significantly upgrade the experince I have when playing.
I thought about implementing different time periods back at the very beginning of the development of this menu, but gave up on the idea pretty quickly for many reasons. At the very least it would overcomplicate the menu, where already due to the limitations of the game engine you have to make quite a few clicks before you get to the desired unit. The second important factor was optimization, because the addition of any unit in the game means that the player will have to preload it, which begins to load a lot of RAM, which not everyone can afford.
I think the unit leveling feature will be added in one of the next updates I'm working on.
I also didn't really understand the question about Platoon Commander and Tankman/Tank Commander, as they are already added to the menu, but with unfinished icon texts.
First of all, thank you for your reply, much appreciated.
In regards to the Tankman and Tank commander, there are two different kinds (I am here thinking of the german units), there are the ones with black uniforms those are panzerwaffe and used for tanks, and then there are the ones in a greenish uniform (Heer), they are used in Stugs and other selfpropelled guns, historically. There are also the Tank commander ace and Tankman ace, but those uniforms are not historically correct I believe. So that kind of adds another layer of game experience, to be able to use the right type of soldiers for the right vehicles, at least for me.
In the menu, I was able to find the Leutnant and the Luftwaffe supplies officer. But not the Platoon commander or the Company commander. A Platoon commander is a Leutnant/Lieutenant, the Platoon commander just wears a more tactical outfit in the game. The Company commander is a Hauptmann/Captain so he is higher on the ladder. He is not really needed when playing, just adds some more realism and gameplay into the game, again, at least for me.
First of all, I’d like to express my sincere appreciation for this excellent mod. I’ve been enjoying it greatly thanks to its outstanding quality and the attention to detail throughout.
I’d like to offer a small suggestion to improve usability during gameplay.
Currently, when spawning emplacements or vehicles, soldiers are not automatically assigned to them. To manually assign crew members, players must navigate through multiple menu layers to reach the soldier spawn list. This can be quite inconvenient, especially during intense combat situations, as it disrupts the flow of gameplay.
I understand that spawning equipment with soldiers already aboard would be ideal, but I’ve heard that this could significantly increase RAM usage, which presents a technical limitation.
As a more practical alternative, I would like to suggest adding the existing soldier spawn options to the equipment spawn list as well. By doing so, players could spawn both equipment and soldiers from the same interface, streamlining the process and improving gameplay efficiency without affecting performance.
Thank you once again for your amazing work on this mod, and I hope you’ll consider this suggestion. It would make a big difference in the player experience.
