That said, I wish the vanilla gatlings were like this. I don't like how they stick out so much from the ship, OR how they take up a whole extra block around themselves. So I hope you come back and give this some TLC. :)
That shouldn't be a problem on my end - I basically just copied the block definitions for the small ship turrets and made them large blocks, didn't do any messing around with anything settings-wise apart from ammo, which would impact all turrets that fire those rounds.

Yeah but they've changed a lot about the game, that's the thing. Maybe there was a memory leak with the vanilla turrets in... December, 2016, the last time you updated this, that's been fixed in the main game or something? If you haven't reuploaded your mod since then, in that case, you wouldn't have gotten any fixes into it.
Regardless of the reasons, the game slows way down when your turrets are firing; not when the vanilla turrets are firing. :P I've actually had to switch to the vanilla turrets for performance, despite the shorter range and irritating-ness of clearing a horizontal space for a whole block around them.
