Bug: NPC ID spawning issue
So, usually I play with 3 NPCs (2 of them being npc_combine_s, and 1 being npc_metropolice), and today I found this and decided to upgrade to this newer version of ZINV. Well you see, the problem is that ID #3 NPC and so on never works. It's not an NPC type problem because I replaced ID #1 and #2 with #3 and it worked, but then I put both into #3 and they stopped spawning. In summary, I can only spawn 2 NPCs (by ID).

And about fixing it, after 30 minutes about pondering, all I can conclude is that further values (3 onward) are conflicting with each other and preventing spawning of IDs 3, 4, 5 etc. What leads me to believe this is that in the original version, if you tried entering 4 NPCs, the 4th one wouldn't spawn. I apologize if my diagnosis isn't detailed enough to fix this.

Strange. How did you configure the chances? Could be that you set it too low for 3+

For the sake that I can explain my chances, I should tell I got NPC weapons pack 2 (which is not the problem). Anyways, my chances for each NPC are as follows:

npc_combine_s w/ FN FAL: 92, npc_combine_s w/ UMP45: 95, and lastly, npc_metropolice w/ M9: 92

I also adjusted them to 97, 100, and 97 to test if it was the chances, turns out not. Anyways, I hope this helps.

If you're spawning NPCS with Pyrorus tactical weapons, it will not work. Rougex100 stated something was wrong with the VGUI in his older weapon pack addons that causes this glitch where NPCS won't spawn using that pack of weapons. I had this issue with my Replica Army configuration until I removed those. I don't if NPC weapon pack 2 has the same issue, I've never used sweps from that pack often, but I can say that Rouge's older packs tend to have issues.

Another recommendation I would make is to type in the console "gmod_npcweapon" and copy/paste the weapon name that comes up in the console. Make sure you have selected the weapon from the dropdown list before hand and also that there are NO unwanted spaces before or after the name or they won't spawn.

Thank you for telling me, but here's the thing, I even tried out putting a normal npc_zombie into slot/ID #3, any thoughts on that?

Might be a corrupt zinv.txt or a bad config. I'd just delete them. Also, if you tried porting from the old zinv, it won't work because the new Zinv has multiple new values (keyvalues and flags, so on so fourth)

I'll try to see if I can replicate this, otherwise I might not be able to help much...

(I forgot to ask whether there are any interesting prints/errors in the console? Could be interesting and helpful)

This is actually a good point I haven't thought about. I never actually checked what happens to old configs. Understanding that could help me figure out some issues people might have down the road.

This is actually a good point I haven't thought about. I never actually checked what happens to old configs. Understanding that could help me figure out some issues people might have down the road.
