What did the missions consist of? I see there was a blackhawk helicopter that you could fly, was this used for carrying troops?
How was the game structured? was it a dynamic campaign or just a string of individual missions?
RobJ's scenarios do a pretty good job of creating missions to fly - though I don't like some of his design choices (but I'm a vet, so I have my biases), but they're always single player missions. In Gunship 2000, at least some of the missions gave you wingmen that could help you, or that were transport helicopters that you'd escort to do a job (drop of troops or supplies, etc.).
It's been over 20 years since I played Gunship 2000, so I'll have to refresh my memory somehow. I just remember really liking it...
One thing I'd definitely appreciate is flying Marine Corps or Navy helicopters from a ship if you decide to do a Gunship 2000-type mission.
You can equip any weapon to any vehicle, so as a work around you could do it but it just wouldn't be modelled on the aircraft (as long as the weapon exists in Arma3)
Have you seen the Huey Pack? That has a huge number of variants for the AH1 and other hueys and could be used as a good starting point.
