Game Mechanics: About Damage
Well, it seems i had some "not totally accurate" assumpions about damage (mostly accurte, but not totally)


STR seems to boost ANY weapon damage. Be it physical or Elemental. Even a full elemental damage weapon such a wand will benefit from focus, sinc eits a weapon.

That also goes for anything with "% weapon damage" - be it as elemental or not.


FOCUS increase any elemental damage, INCLUDING weapon elemental damage, but NOT weapon physical damage.

BUT on skills, "fixed" physical damage ("deals XXXX physical damage") it is ALSO FOCUS and not STR wich boost that damage.

So somehow it goes as follows:

WEAPON DAMAGE

OF ANY TYPE (physical or elemental) - STR

ELEMENTAL ONLY - FOC

SKILL DMG - "% weapon dmg / dps dmg" *
- If weapon is dmg is physical STR
- if weapon dmg is elemental STR and FOCUS

*Recquires testing but 90% sure.

"% Weapon damage AS ELEMENTAL DAMAGE" STR and FOCUS
*IF weapon is elemental, it WOULD get double benefit
from FOCUS, as it increases damage from weapon base
elemental damage, and then increases it again from the
skill conversion of that damage into the skill related element.
Would need testing, still doesn´t seems too relevant. Just a
sidenote as something curious to check anytime.

"Deals XXXX [ Poison, Fire, Lightning, Ice,[b]Physical[/b]] Damage" - FOCUS !!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!! NOTICE! fixed PHYSICAL damage on skills is also scalated with FOCUS!

That amazed me, but i tested it.

-I guess that info might be invaluable to recheck skills and do proper and optimum balance,
and also to offer a better build variety as we can take into account wich stat enhances wich skills.
