Some thoughts:
Poison Temple. The one shot kills are frustrating. I have never been able to complete this temple. It takes me around 5 to 10 min to reach the one shot areas and I always manage to die there no matter how powerful my hero is. Is there a way to make this less frustrating with the one shot killl?
Perhaps it's time for a balance patch (I had a feeling that these one-shot kill obstacles from the Poison Temple would be difficult for some players).
I normally use the Haste Scroll and just make sure to click on a safe area or retreat to allow the foes to die from the fire missiles before I proceed.
Some classes offer crowd control affixes or crowd push skills or player movement skills hence those tend to help.
The poison spills are much harder as foes can walk through them so I lead foes to follow me to a safer corner.
The rock throwers require luring foes away from the hazard zone then prepare to move again when a rock is about to strike from afar.
The Boss room has spills, self-destruct foes, fire missiles, and slow seeking missiles hence it's best to lure foes to destroy themselves by passing near them and only clicking on very specific areas to avoid getting melted from the hazard damage. Click on the Boss when safe then retreat and repeat.
Do you have any issues with the one-shot land hazards from the Iron Temple or Magma Temple? Do you feel that the more forgiving land hazards of the Ice Temple or Air Temple are more ideal for survival balance?
I have no issues in the other temples as there is some space to move around. I think the problem is that the space is too small for the character to fit and sometime the character failed to walk to the side of the main path and died from the fire. Note, I had speed boost 12.5.
One solution could be to have the one shot area at the start of the temple, as it is impossible to save and start over at the one shot area. That would remove the frustration of exiting the temple and start all over again.
@HiFive - yes those spells are based on cold damage so will pick up any +cold damage gems/bonuses you have.
I can get past the stuff being thrown now, but the ball of fire can kill me if there are enemies on the turnouts and they push me back into the fireball's path. Or sometimes there are enough of them on the turnout that there is no room for my character to run there. I'm talking about the first turnout where you have to run really fast to get there in time. Even if I succeed there, just the slightest misstep on the next few spots can insta-kill, as well.
Next, if you are new to that temple, you are so busy trying to just avoid the flames shooting out at intervals, and the enemies blocking your ability to avoid the flames, that you don't even see the flaming turnstile, and that you have to move in the correct direction right away. There is no place to pause and reflect on how to navigate it. Either you know what to do long before you get there, or you fail. Then, like I said, a critter may be blocking your path out.
So, I've done many runs, and resetting this dungeon in-between is annoying. If you want to keep it very dangerous, then it should instantly reset, at least, so we can more easily remember what we need to do. Either that, or maybe place more space in-between some things. Or, perhaps, eliminate that one intermittent flame shooter just before the turnstile.
I have to say that I really dread trying to re-run the Poison Temple each time I go there. I can do all of the other temples. I thought the last part of the Nether Temple was difficult, but it pales in comparison to the Poison Temple.
