General info about IGE
Just so everyone knows, the author of IGE (Donquiche) has not done an update since March of 2014 so its pretty safe to say that he no longer supports it...which means there will be no more fixes and no more expert advice.

Judging from the things I see in Comments and Discuusions, it seems most problems are due to compatibility issues with other Mods. Even though Donquiche said that IGE is compatible with most (or all) mods, I'm afraid that that is an exaggeration. That may have been a true statement back in 2014 but is no longer so now.

If you are new to mods in civ5, be aware that unchecking a mod in the mod section may NOT be enough to make things work. This game creates cache files during loading and the data there that was created from a mod can still interfere with other mods even if the mods themselves are unchecked. You NEED to delete all those cache files. Do so by going to c:\Users\*username*\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\cache. In there will be two sub-folders and a bunch of *.db files. You can delete the entire \cache folder. The game will rewrite whatever it needs upon starting. I usually just delete the files cause the two sub-folders always seem empty but whatever. For a complete wipe, go to the ...\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS folder. You will see all the mods you have downloaded, each in their own folder. Delete those folders. THEN, before starting civ5, go to the Steam civ5 Workshop and find all the mods you have subscribed to and UNsubscrbe. If you don't, they will reinstall themselves.

If you still have trouble...well...I don't know what to tell you. All I can say is that IGE works for me just fine. My civ5 install is the original game plus G&K plus BNW plus a crap ton of the original Fireaxis DLCs...Korea, Polynesia, Explorer Maps, etc. My version of civ5 is the same that everyone else uses, 1.0.3.279. You can check your own version on the civ5 screen that you get after loading...the one where you chose Single or Multiplayer (look below the choice box).

Good luck.

P.S. Lets all hope that Windows 11 doesn't break all our games. 8-(

I have been told that, for a clean wipe, also delete the \ModUserData folder. Its in the same place as \cache.
