Left 4 Dead 2

Dam It (Buried by the Flood) [Official]
Kyle's Review of "Dam It" - 1/5
An unfinished reminder of what could have been. 1/5 stars.

When Turtle Rock was developing Left 4 Dead 1, they had plans for three short campaigns that would each be set between the four 5-map campaigns. Of those short campaigns, only Crash Course was finished and released — but Dam It, taking place between Dead Air and Blood Harvest, still got "released" as an unfinished beta, and it was later ported to Left 4 Dead 2 with bare minimum changes to make it functional. Other than a few new weapon spawns and playing as the L4D2 survivors, this is exactly the same as the L4D1 beta version.

I fully support the decision to make zero major changes to the campaign for the sake of preservation, but is it actually fun to play? Well... no. It's glitchy, confusing, unbalanced, inconsistent, and overall unpolished. It's a good port and I'm immensely glad this campaign is available to play, but Dam It is so unfinished it's only worth trying as a historical curiosity. Play one of the remakes instead!
