Starbound

bk3k's variable planet sizes

Other mods that should work with this
This mod doesn't require any others, but on the main page I mention several other universe generation mods that one can optionally use with this. I might as well link them.

Frackin Universe - terrific mega mod that probably needs no introduction

If you're using FU - and ONLY FU - you can still use this and it will somewhat affect generation compared to FU, but the difference isn't massive. My planet classes and planet variation parameters are derived from FU even if modified a bit. Also gravity levels will be slightly different(no overlap). The average for planet orbits will be larger, and the average for satellite orbits will be smaller.

Truespace - psuedo realistic universe generation with real star classification. Hotter planets will be closer to stars, and get colder based off distance from them. Not all stars are equally hot, and so not all systems would have the same temperature ranges. Highly recommended.

TS does work with FU. However TS(with or without FU) won't feature large planet classes(even though FU alone would)... unless you have this mod too. Adding large planets to the TS systems(after other TS users noted the lack of larger planets) is what got me thinking about making this mod.

Universe Generation Overhaul - Apparently my compatibility work went to waste for this one. It has been removed but was formerly found here

Note the mod author does have other mods up still.

...so I have NO IDEA why it is gone. Neither do I understand why some mod authors just up and pull their mods like that(leaving their users in a fix).

Unigen - An interesting collection of "modules" that change how Starbound works.
http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/unigen-modular-universe-generation-overhaul.4257/
The "Larger Worlds and Diverse Gravity" module is similar in nature to this mod and thus there really isn't any reason to use both. There is one less planet size class added, and a few details are different. But this mod/module isn't set up to work with others like FU, TS, etc.
It works with vanilla Starbound universes only(excluding other Unigen modules). That's what finalized my decision to make this mod.
I wanted a mod that doesn't limit what other universe/planet mods you could use with it, so I made this mod.

Now you might as well use the other Unigen modules if they interest you. The "Rare Systems" module may or may not work with other universe mods (depending on load order). Their author didn't seem to reply to my post that indicated how to fix that :( But it won't cause a problem with this mod in any case.

Others -

M4's Space Stations
http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/space-stations.4061/
Obviously add space stations into systems. Stations get invaded, etc. TS compatible and probably FU too.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Space Stations
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=754170513
This is a fork of M4's Space Stations. I'm not sure what they've changed in comparison honestly. At the time I am writing this, the M4 stations have been updated more recently so I'm not sure if these mods are still similar or not but use whichever I suppose.

Satellites Mod Pack
http://community.playstarbound.com/resources/satellites-pack.2783/
Adds satellites and also empty building space to the universe generation. M4's Space Stations and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Space Stations where built starting with this mod.

Better Barren - Elysium Worlds

Have others I missed?

smaller and bigger planet size mods are something I was wondering if they worked with this.
