**Frequently Asked Questions**
Q: Why do all weapons have the same zoom ?

A: The following comparison between the different viewpoints will shed some light on this.

First person viewpoint vs Isometric viewpoint

First person:

-When being shot at from a long range weapon, you still have the ability to engage that threat, although your weapons effectiveness at that range is minimal depending on the type of weapon system, you can still engage and return fire.

Isometric view with varing levels of zoom:

-You are being shot at by a long range weapon, you cannot see where the fire is coming from, you cannot shoot back at the location of fire, unless you have the same weapon.

Isometric view with a locked engagement range:
{the philosophy behind a locked range is that in real world the majority of infantry combat happens at a range of 300meters and below}

-You are being shot at by a long range weapon that is highly effective at combat range, you take cover, you can see where the fire is coming from, you can return fire with your assault rifle although its fire is not as effective, you still can engage that threat, put that threat under fire and manouvre from the threat, or move to a more advantageous position.

If you have watched any combat documentaries or footage of infantry in combat, you may have heard the soldiers saying "is the fire effective?" "taking effective fire!" "the incoming fire was damn effective, we took some casualties"

Q: How come my soldier moves so slow ?
A: The movement and animation speeds are based as close to realistic speeds of movement as possible, a soldier's combat weight after ditching his pack is still considerably heavy, also soldiers will conserve their energy by moving at a quick pace rather than running at full speed.

Q: Why are there so many vests in the armoury ? And why can't i drag the vest and unequip it ?
A: What you see is part of the "9 Lives" system, a near random probabilty system to determine your soldiers fate when struck by a round or explosive, this system is the only way i could find at this moment to implement as random a wia/kia/stun system in game. Most of it is behind the scenes, while a good portion of it requires to be in the armoury in order for the system to function. You cannot unequip the vest otherwise you are not within the system, you can buy a ghille suit and swap between the vest system and the ghille by right clicking.
The system is based off real world wartime casualty rates of roughly 18% KIA & 82% WIA with 5.56mm having a higher chance of wounding while a 7.62mm has a higher chance of killing, fragmentation and high explosive are similar within the system.

Q: Why does the A.I. shoot at me more often when i run and hardly sees me when i am still or prone ?
A: The human eye is attracted to movement, specially rapid movement. A trained eye will not look for a silhouette but rather movement, the A.I. will spot you 4 times more apparent running than if you were standing still, less if you are crouched and even less if you are prone. Always seek to make yourself as invisible to your enemy as possible, when contact is made 'go to ground' and return fire, seek more suitable cover if in close vacinity otherwise stay prone and fire at the enemy alongside your unit. Whatever you do, do not stand up in the middle of a firefight, you will be spotted immediately and shot.

Q: Why are all the rares and toys removed ?
A: They have been removed to preserve the simulation like nature of this modification.

Q: Why can't i see the soldiers or vehicles on the map ?
A: 'Fog Of War' has been extended to the map view, what you see and information you construct about the enemy is directly to your front and from your fellow soldiers to either side of your position on the battlefield.

Q: Why do all the soldiers look the same/wearing the same kit ?
A: In real world, soldiers are equipped in a similar fashion, they have their standard kit and protective gear. Here is a comment from a family member of mine who served in the Royal Australian Regiment - 3rd Parachute Battalion. "you've got your spare clothing, any extra clothing like a jacket etc, sleeping bag, food rations, possible radio if youre the radio operator, couple kilos of water, eating utensils, camo kits, misc items you may need in combat like cable ties etc. And then theres your webbing and depending on your role that can weigh any amount. Basic rifleman had 6 mags of 5.56. 2-4 hand grenades and if you were carrying extra ammo for the minimi gunners, flashlights, more water, night vision, personal radio headset. If you came into contact the first thing you do is hit the ground as hard as you can, then when safe to do so and if you really need to or not, rip off your backpack, special roles like gunner and grenadier had extra crap to carry. For us it was anywhere between 30-50 Kgs depending on your role"
