So far I think this is neat. Some thoughts:

Lower the level: It would be nice if the level this was gained at was much lower, around the same time you can actually start using metal, say 25 ish.

Materials: Could the prospecting tool be changed to something like a dowsing rod? Made with wood/fiber/thatch instead of electronics and polymer?

Is it possible to make the tool show your current loc in the same units that the .ini uses to place hotspots? I have no idea how to find where to place the hotspots on non-island maps.

The reason I'd like it lower level, and the dowsing rod not using elec and poly is because I wanted to try out a VERY low metal harvest multiplier, and basically force using the mines to harvest metal on maps like the Center that has way to many easy to access metal nodes

Oh, could you lower the distance the doed's thump sound reaches on the crusher? it'll drive you crazy quick!

You can set your own levels for engrams in the ini files search for overrideengramentries in google, If your trying to find locations on standard maps, there are some good websites about with coordinate transalations. It may also be possible to change crafting costs using ConfigOverrideItemCraftingCosts
