Description
Giganto-Mining - Resource Mining Chain

release: 02/08/17: individual production limits for resources, stack size and weight changes, production rates upped.

A Gigantopithecus driven metal ore mine.
A Doedi driven ore crusher.
A lime kiln for cement production.
A 'Supply Box' to store inputs and outputs from your mines.
A prospector tool to help you position the mines in the most beneficial places.

All containers support a 'Pull UI' to grab resources from other containers and dinos in a 200m range.

Mod id: 943873315

WARNING: Do not use high level tames in these items, when you release them they will be low level (max 10) and unusable for anything other than moving back to another mine/crusher! There is no benefit gained from level of the tame, a 4 is as good as a 200 so may as well use the 4!

Mine Entrance

Place the mine in an appropriate place, add a Gigantopithecus give him berries to eat, wood for pit-props and a pickaxe to mine with and he will reward you with a steady supply of resources over time.

The map has hot-zones (setup via the ini file) outside of a zone the mine will produce stone and occasional metal. If placed inside a hot zone the mine produces different materials and different amounts of resources depending on the config. The closer the mine is to the centre of a hot zone the more of these materials it will produce. Different zones can produce different resources, again this is controlled by the ini entries.

To add the Gigantopithecus stand him within a few meters of the mine entrance and use the raidal menu. Your worker can be released again from the radial menu, but will be broken by the hard work and will not be greater than a level 10! (release is really only intended to allow you to move the mine!)

The mine can be 'started' if you add berries, wood and a metal pickaxe after adding the Gigantopithecus. It will consume the berries and wood over time, and the durability of the axe will also decrease. If there are no berries or wood or no un-broken axe in the inventory the mine will stop working. If the door remains open, the mine needs one of the supplies topping up, check the berries, wood and axes.

The mine will collect resources over-time. The interval can be set via the ini The default is to produce resources every minute. Each resource has a cap on the amount of mined resources it can hold, once the cap is reached it will not add anymore of that resource, however it can still gather other resources which are below the cap. So it may stop gathering stone but still be adding metal. The cap is intended to make sure you have to visit the mine every so often to ensure the supply continues. Caps can be adjusted in the ini file.

Construction requires stone, wood and metal. The mine is (currently) made in the player inventory this may change as the mod develops.

Ore Crusher

The ore crusher is also dino powered, this time it will take up to 3 doedi. The more doedi you add the more productive the crusher is. Add berries for fuel for the doedis and your ready to go. Ore from a mine is crushed into rock and metal. Rock is crushed into sand and limestone (more on limestone in a later version!). The crusher can pull unprocessed ore from nearby containers, see the entry on the radial menu.

Like the mine above creatures released from the mine will be broken by the hard work and will not be greater than a level 10

Lime Kiln

The kiln takes crushed limestone from the crusher and burns it at a high temperature to create lime-cement, an alternative to cementing paste. Fuel with wood, Thatch, angler gell or sparkpowder as normal.

Supply Box

A storage box for supplies and products of the mine, crusher and kiln. Supports the 'Pull UI' allowing you to gather resources in one place easily. The pull UI works with all team containers/dinos in a 200m radius.

Prospecting tool

The prospector once made, cost about the same as a gps, can be equiped. when triggered messages will appear at the top of the screen to indicate whether you are near an ore body (within a zone) and if so how close you are to the center. It also displays another value indicating how much more abundant materials are in that location. If you are not in a hot-zone the message will show: standard readings

The alternate fire of the prospector will trigger a pull ui to transfer mining related resources to the target container or dino. Use it to move items in bulk to a transport dino, or to move resources to a fabricator or other bench.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info! Will just put down a couple extra.

As far as I remember there is no ini option to control the output rate for the crusher. The number of doedi workers is the only factor which modifies the output currently.

Really liking the mod, was just wondering how to go about modifying how fast the crusher runs overall in the ini. Thanks!

Without looking at the code, I'd expect that it finds the first overlapping zone and uses that. I'll take a look, but it will take me some time to download the latest SDK.

What happens in the event that a mine is placed in a location that is covered by several zones? Does it mine all those zone? (I'm thinking I can take the wiki resource data and map it directly to zone configuration.)

@123 once set up that is it, the configuration just governs the relative amounts and types of resources that are generated in a particular area on your map.

i have a question about the zones are they infinite resources like do they never run out or do you have to re set them up or finally do they refresh on server restart aka when they run out if server restarts they are full and able to be gathered from again?

Don't need to use the ADK! just map out the zones, X,Y for the center and a radius. Set up which resources you want, and the amount you want. Add to the ini. See the discussion above.
