Does the Timer progress on Dino's in Stasis/Hibernation?

Just curious but lets say I'm riding a passive bird. Server crashes, I fall off bird, and have to respawn.

Will the timer progress while there is nobody loaded nearby to bring the bird out of stasis?
OR
Will the timer only start to progress once the bird is loaded?

The timer doesn't continue its progress if the dino is in stasis. It's been awhile since I've tested, but I think it just continues where it left off when it comes out of stasis.
