I'd like to chip in here. I know there are mods for Portal2 that replaces your portal2 gun with a paint gun. If you use this, and the player does not require to install anything, and the competition rules do not prevent it: for example: you cannot use gel, then it is allowed. Of course if the competition rules say: the player has to portal a minimum of 10 times, then its not allowed obviously.

The "Awesome Games Done Quick" event just finished, and there were 2 of our favorite games played. Namely Portal 1 and Portal 2. And to top it off, they also played Portal 1 in a unique way: 2 people playing on one computer, where one person only controls the mouse, and the other player only controls the keyboard.

For those of you who don't know what Awesome Games Done Quick is, see www.gamesdonequick.com for more information. Short info: its a fund-raising event where the best speedrunners from all over the world, try and do a speedrun of your favorite games 24/7 from januari 4th till januari 10th.

In order to set really crazy times, games are played in ways they were not meant to be played. An example in Portal 1 which is really abused, is the save glitch. By shooting a portal, and standing behind it, saving/reloading does awesome tricks. There are runs where they sort of go out-of-bounds in portal1, for these runs, they did not do it, which is awesome to see, because that makes it seem more "realistic" in doing a speedrun. Of course they do bunnyhop.

Current stage: The competition is over

The idea for this challenge is to do the following:
This challenge is based on the theme "bridge at the top" : chambers must imply the use of a lightbridge at the top of a portal.

Everything is allowed, for example the bridge can point horizontally or vertically, can be set at the top of a moving panel, in the middle of 2 white surfaces in order to also use it at the bottom of a portal, etc ... as long as the use of a lightbridge at the top of a portal is involved !
Any creative mechanic around this is obviously encouraged. So there's no restriction with other elements (even a bridge at the bottom of a portal), so long as it's not overwhelming the chamber. "Portal-climbing" solutions not allowed (and to avoid as much as possible while solving).
