DRUNKEN APES - Asset Flipper or Legit Dev?
I saw that one of the games by this dev is reviewed as an asset flip by SOS, but when I checked their catalog, all the other games have very positive reviews (usually 75% or higher). Most of the reviews look very suspicious though, specially if you add the act that this dev released 10 games this year alone...

I am curious about one thing:
how does this bundle have 27 positive reviews
https://steamhost.cn/bundle/3941/MIND_GAMES_BUNDLE/
?

I mean you can see that on this page
https://steamhost.cn/search/?publisher=DRUNKEN%20APES

Hover mouse on thumb up near bundle and its says review % . How does that work?

Combining items reviews it seems.

They're not straight up asset flips. They're what I call asset mashups. Basic Unity engine, toss a few assets together, toss in a map, write some code. Not a ton of effort but not an asset flip either.

Well, all evalutions from the keys bought on steam, for each game, are positive and the whole bundle have 27 of them among the four games (11+7+4+5).

What puzzles me is the 100% positive rating for the bundle, and the very positive for the individual games... the reviews looks shady af...

Some of the reviews could be suspicious: People with hundreds of reviews and people with most of their (under 50) games reviewed.

But they seem to be simple yet playable games, unlike some others. And from what I can see the devs took the time to fix bugs that came up, so it's not like they threw out a cash-grab and abandoned it.

Honestly, they don't seem that shady to me, sure 3 of their games seem to share assets or "engine", but that doesn't necessarily make them shady. I'd expect it's a small 1-2 people group of people doing these game-jam-style games as a hobby while not having an artist.

PUBG is as much of an "asset flip" as these seem to be. Using store-bought assets doesn't mean you are an asset flipper, that name implies a lack of effort and work put into your product. Using third-party art assets doesn't mean work/effort wasn't put into the game.

That said if someone has looked more in-depth into it and concluded that no work was put in to work those assets into the game, or that the games were bought as published, you can disregard my impression of them.
