its rather extremely big AAA studio or they are doing much copypaste. Just take a look on amount of entries and their release dates

Oh look, more crappy VR games. Yeah, because thats what we need - pixalated garbage in front of our eyes. Truly the future is now!

Wow, 4 "games" in one month, that tells how much effort was put into them.

I wonder if he bought a VR-thing just to create these.

I wonder if asset flippers even have enough money to buy VR hardware.
Sounds kinda ironic isnt?

If they spend 100 $ on Steam Direct and the game is being sold for 5 $ I dont think they get back that money. At least not from selling it to legit userss ( not countiing trading card farmers)

just 20 sales at $5 and he basically got back his money, pretty easy on Steam with all the crazy collectors around, though they usually wait for sales.
200 sales and he gets revenue + $100 usd bonus on top

Yeah but..... if the game is crap majority of people gonna refund it and not even counting that many people not gonna even click on his store page.
In short: I think its gonna take time before he will get back his money without some shady buisness practice ( if the game is bad ofc )

Collectors, crazy collectors are everywhere who would grab any shit just for the sake of game counter increasing without intent of playing it, see comments here for example: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/games/568190/announcements/detail/1657761307129523086

And he can combine that with shady practices as well. Steam has become quite a paradise for VG-scammers, despite new measures against that.

That actually isn't true. Taking achievement hunter games into account, those games grab people due to their high amounts of achievements, and achievement hunters, solely interested in getting a bunch of achievements will buy it. Here's some graph data from some games that are known for high achievement amounts to back this up:

These games show that even when games are fo low quality, there are still owners of the games, showing 8.3K, 1K, and 58.2K people own the games.
Zeusberg 19 Mar, 2018 @ 2:23pm
Some own them from giveaways, discounts, bundles, but still - proves the point.
It's a challenge to make a game so bad it doesn't bring back those $100 USD, lol :)

I thought the purged games also get removed from the owner's total counter - wasn't that the case with all those Zonitron games?

Eh, it seems hit-or-miss. So called "banned" games disappear, since they are erased from SteamAPI DB, like they never existed. Regular removed games remain as is.

Fun fact: it seems you can still craft boosters for most(any?) removed/banned games, even if stuff is now non-marketable.
