I was looking through Steam Discussions that were there at the time. One of them alleged that the game was stealing content, another member responded in agreement. I didn't dig enough to confirm, and so went with alleged instead of saying they did.

The posts are no longer there in the discussions. I support your hunt to confirm, and wish you luck.

Sadly there are no screenshots or archived versions of the discussions boards.
