Early Access Review
I'll be completely honest, I had no idea what I was getting with this game. It seemed like a joke when I looked into it, but it's anything but.

This is the casual survival game that I've been waiting for. Palworld is exactly what I dint know I needed. Its a survival game that lets me capture cute little creatures, and then put them to work.
I also cant get over how well optimized this is for an early access title. The game looks great and runs incredibly smooth. I do have a few complaints about button remapping, but that's the absolute worst thing I have to say.

If you're on the fence about picking this up, I think you will be pleasantly surprised if you take a chance.

Cute game and I was really excited to play it, but I hate games that have the stamina management system. Instead of letting me enjoy the game at my own pace, Im forced to micromanage my entire day in game. It sucks the fun out of so many games and I refuse to even bother with it anymore. The devs got my money though, so jokes on me for falling for it.

Im not sure why the devs havent updated the game to support higher resolutions. My screen is grainy and the hit boxes dont match up with where Im hitting targets.

The first and only game I played:
- 2 people just ran in and died
- 3 people disconnected
- the enemy team just sat in the back and missiled the remainder of my team into dust
Oh, and the enemy team didnt lose a single person

Super fun game devs, cant imagine why the player base is so low. What with the game looking terrible, needlessly complicated controls, and such a steep learning curve.

Game was trash and it brings me a great deal of joy to see it fail. Im sure most of the accounts with "received for free" saying they liked the game are bots.

Real nice of the DEVs to make a map that is covered in a red haze that obscures the scratch marks of survivors and the killers red light. Seriously, why use the same color for map ambiance as the one used for in game feedback for the players? I get it, Im not that great at the game, but I am struggling on this map.

As far as the new killer goes, he seems fine. One thing I find particularly annoying though is, the Jailer guard that the Knight can summon. This thing does not need line of site to lock onto you, nor does it need to be on the same floor. The Jailer locks on and phases through the wall, floor, ceiling, or whatever happens to be between you and him. I'm really hoping that this is a bug, and it gets fixed soon.

The new survivor has a nice mix of skills, but I doubt I will be able to synergize them well. As a new player, Im not very good at looping yet and I struggle with great skill checks due to reduced reaction time cause by my TBI.

So this game is exactly what it looks like, a Hunter: Call of the Wild clone. Where Way of the Hunter doesn't do anything awful, it also doesn't do anything well. The game is the definition of a "meh" title. Overall, Way of the Hunter feels like a bland hunting game that did its best to imitate a more well rounded title.

The gun play feels off and I don't know how the developer managed that. My rounds always land low, no matter how much time I spend ranging the target, adjusting zero, and steadying my shot. The firearm selection is very limited as well, and I'm guessing its so developers can flush it out later through DLC.

The hunter sense needs some work as well. I feel like it could benefit from giving players the option to assign colors to different markers, i.e. droppings, blood, prints, sound cues, and deceased animals. The hunter sense gets confusing while tracking a blood trail and the exact same flashing effect is displayed for everything on screen. Not to mention the default color for the hunter sense is yellow, and blends in with the light greens and tans of the grass.

The amount of money you need to purchase hunting certificates for different zones feels odd too. Not in the sense that they added something you need to work for, but because of the conservation aspect. If you kill too many animals, then the population on the map lowers. This feels counter productive for game play, since you need to kill animals to make money, but then that lowers the number of animals within certain zones on map.

The last thing about the game that strikes me as odd is how few fast travel points are on the map. I don't want to skip all over the map, but I also don't want to spend 30 minutes walking to a feeding zone.

All in all, I feel like the game has potential, but it lacks polish. If the developers continue to build upon what they currently have, I think it will end up being a great title.

Tried the beta out and I cant get past the violent screen shake that was added when firing. I honestly cant see what Im shooting at because of how much the screen shakes. I get it, someone who has never played a shooter thought "lets add some immersion to the game", but all it did was make it borderline unplayable.
I bought the game, but got a refund after realizing I couldnt adjust any settings to fix the issue mentioned above. The trailers do not convey how off the game feels and I dont have faith in developers any more to fix issues.

So I played the beta for this and I sent up feedback about how I felt some of the Gundams were unbalanced and the teams felt stacked.
Figured I would give the full launch a try and see if anything was addressed in the time since I last played and its the exact same. Some of the Gundams are so weak, they cant do anything but feed the enemy team. A few are just flat out broken in the hands of a reasonably skilled player. Every game I played, one team was clearly better than the other and it resulted in a shut out match.
Im decent at most of the shooters I play, but this game feels off in so many ways. I grew up with Gundam and it bums me out so much to see a franchise that I have fond memories of treated like this. Sadly, I think this game will have a small surge out of nostalgia in the beginning and be completely dead in 3 months.
