Early Access Review
Im not sure how the gameplay is for the game. I spent about 30 minutes trying to find a lobby, with no success. Checked the Steam charts, and GTFO has less that 2k active players over the last 24 hours. I understand its an early access title, but it feels dead and $27 is a lot to ask to support a game that doesnt have players.

I bought this game because it had very positive reviews. After playing for a little over an hour, I had to ask for a refund. The games difficulty scaling is through the roof, and it struggles to deliver anything in the way of fun.
Pros:
-the game looks nice
-the game runs smooth

Cons:
-lacks basic quality of life functions
-crafting system is annoying
-basic survival mechanics are needlessly difficult
-map is saturated with animals that will kill you, and sit on your corpse

I could probably add a few more things to the cons section, but I think they tie in with the things listed in a way. I understand this is an early access, but I can not for the life of me understand the positive reviews.

This game is essential an 80's action film fans wet dream. It uses all the right movie references and over the top action themes to set the atmosphere. The initial helicopter sequence is from Predator, the cyber vision you use to mark targets is exactly the same as the Terminators, multiple weapons take direct influence from items like the Krull Glaive, and the dossier files are full of little things from the classics like TMNT.
The game is short, sweet, and to the point. I was able to complete a full run through in a little under 12 hours. Thats with me getting distracted constantly doing side missions and taking over every enemy command post on the island. So, if youre looking for something to obsess over, this will not fill that need, but it will make for a great weekend distration.

All in all, this is a great game for $14.99. I spent so much time laughing at the little cut scenes and references that I honestly wanted to play it again as soon as I was done. The only thing I can complain about is that I would have loved more. I would have honestly loved a full title release of this, but I'd rather the game be short and awesome than longer and garbage.

Probably one of my favorite games this year. I wont lie though, the end game gets repetative with all the grinding for decorations and weapon upgrades.

Im writing this as a warning to anyone who may be interested in purchasing World of Final Fantasy.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS GAME.

This is one of the laziest and/or worst PC ports I have ever seen. The keyboard/mouse controls are horrible, and thats leading you to believe that the mouse actually works. The key mapping is ridiculous and feels like little to no thought was put into it, and the mouse LITERALLY does not work with the game.

Now, I know most sensible gamers are going to say "Hey man, stop being an idiot and use a controller" Not only is that a logical answer to this keyboard nonsense, its exactly what I tried next to address the problem. The controller does indeed feel better and Im going to guess that this is how the game is actually intended to be played. The most annoying thing now is, with a controller plugged in, the game still gives me all my tutorials and key propmts in the keyboard controls. I have absolutely no clue what is going on in real time with the game, because Im being told to "press K" in a cutscene, while Im holding a USB controller in my hand.

I cant recommend this game to anyone, and that actually makes me really sad. I like the aesthetic of the game and mechanics, I mean its basically a Final Fantasy stylized Pokemon game. With the UI problems I had initially (you can sort it out, but its annoying) and then the controls, its just more headache than its worth.

Early Access Review
I think this game has potential, but I believe it was released into early access prematurely. Too many small problems make this feel like a money grab to me, which has become common place in the gaming industry. I know that sounds a little harsh and it IS an early access, but I keep getting burned by developers in the same way and I am tired of it.
Im trying to get a refund on the game at current, but I wish the developers luck. If the game makes it to full release, I might give it another shot. That being said, here's my thoughts.

PROs:
-game looks beautiful
-runs smooth (for me)
-unique and creative customization
-large environment to explore
-fully destructable world

CONs:
-base building is terrible, items fail to place or connect
-navigating the very large map is frustrating (no mini map, navigation tool)
-UI needs more options for customization
-the creation system needs a rework to allow players the ability to create more easily (cutting/shapping the cardboard)
-little to no information is givin on progression
-combat is clunky
-game has a button to allow you to reset single player map, does not work (no way to reset single player)

In the end, its an early access game. Its going to be clunky and have issues, but this one feels more like a homeless man asked me for $20 and then slapped me in the face after I gave it to him.

This game is essentially a death roulette simulator. You are going to stand on a raft and the game is going to take turns killing you with either dehydration, starvation, or a shark. I understand different people like different things, but I dont understand how anyone can enjoy this game.

Typical of a Ubisoft game, it is rich with bugs, glitches, and overall A.I. retardation. The base game play is fine, but the basic polish that can make a game stand out is lacking. I would say that the game is a good pick up for $20, but the current pricetag is asking too much. Bottom line, the game has been out for nearly a year and a half and it has not made much progress in terms of balance. If the game were to go on sale and you are interested in a tactical 3rd person shooter, give it a shot. Otherwise, I would say save your money and purchase something else.

This is a very creative game and I can see why a number of people would find it interesting. My problem with the game is, it has no real tutorial. I do not have time to play a game the requires me to use google/youtube almost right out the gate.
The game plays and looks fine, and I have seen people do lots of really interesting things in it, but I dont have the patience for it.

I wish their was a "maybe" or "not for me" rating

So far, this game has been more fun than I expected. The controls take some time to get used to (Im not very good with aviation based controls) and the tech trees can be completed pretty quickly. For the price, it looks great and plays well.
