So I opened the beta for Elyon and immediately noticed that it didnt have the option to invert the camera controls. I cant play games without inverted controls, so I shut the game down and sent up a report to the developers that stated that.
I understand that its not something that affects most people, but its how Ive always played games. Imagine being right handed, and being told "sorry man, you have to play with your left hand for this one game". Thats how it feels and it is the reason Ive had to pass on numerous games in the past.

Now Elyon has fully launched, I redownload it, and still no options to invert camera. Heard good things about the game, but until the option is added, its a pass for me.

I played Phantasy Star Online on the Dreamcast back in the 2000s and I really loved that game. It was a lot of fun to explore, fight bosses, level up/evolve your mags, and meet people. I came into this game expecting a similar experience and was disappointed.
This is a fashion gacha and nothing more. None of the game play that made the original unique or enjoyable is present in this PSO title. The base game is boring, the character creation is horrible, and every moment from the time you start is just the developer trying to get you to spend money.
The game is free to play, so if you want to give it a shot, then go for it. I unfortunately feel like this is another franchise that I grew up with, who has been stripped of its soul by corporate greed.

The game honestly feels like it has potential, but its just not there. The movement feels clunky, the sprint out time from movement to ADS feels wrong somehow, some default keybindings cant be remapped, the maps are unbalanced by lack of cover and easy spawn camping.
If the developers listen to the community and tweak things as they go, this could be a really fun game. Might reinstall next year after some updates and see if any improvements have been made.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite has a very Left 4 dead feel about it. The game certainly isnt doing anything amazing or new, but it does just enough right to be mindlessly fun. Compared to some of the other dumpster fires that the Alien franchise has given us over the years, this one is a gem. The game currently suffers from a lack of content, and I suspect the players base will drop off hard in 3 months. So grab a few friends, strap in, kit up, and go hunt some xenos.

Im going to be honest. I thought this was going to be similar to Monster Hunter World, but done in a more cartoonish style. I was not expecting a turn based RPG style game, but I am enjoying it. The gameplay and mechanics are simply enough to figure out, and the depth is there if you want to really get into stats/skills.
Im about 35 hours in and I would say that this is worth the $60.

Monster Hunter Stories 2 has the traditional monster farming for upgrades to gear and farming environmental materials for crafting. What I found to be lacking was how much they simplified the armor sets. In previous MH titles, you had the standard RPG equipment slots: head/shoulders/chest/legs/etc. In Stories 2 however, they cut all that out and essentially gave you an amour onesie. It feels like they took a lot of the creativity out of creating builds and tailoring skills to your play style.

The party system is really well done and offers a lot of creativity/customization. I can tell that the end game is going to be a time pit for me though, because Im a bit of a stat ♥♥♥♥♥ in these kinds of games.

If youre a fan of older party based RPGs, I would definitely suggest giving Monster Hunter Stories 2 a shot. If youre on the fence about it, throw it on your wish list and see if it goes on sale at some point.

The game has potential, but it needs to get the A.I. dialed in. The A.I. on the map are essentially set to 2000 Counter Strike, veteran level, instant headshot mode. The second the A.I. sees you, they open fire and drill you from a mile away and it gets old SUPER quick. Not to mention, the weapon ballistics feel off and the iron sites are scuffed looking. The entire combat experience feels lacking and is going to ultimately be the downfall of the game.

Im going to say a few things about World of Tanks for the sake of anyone who has not played it before.

At its core, I actually like World of Tanks. The game plays well, and a lot of attention was put into the detail of the vehicles. My problem with World of Tanks is the predatory way that Wargaming labels it as a "free to play" game. You are capable of playing the game for free to a point, but it becomes heavily incentivized that you should buy a premium account. Its a free to play game, and getting players to spend money is how they keep the servers on. I understand that, but I dont like how they force the players hand into supporting the game.
The largest problem with the game, by far, is the "pay to win" aspect. You can purchase premium vehicles from the store, for real money. I played this game off and on for probably close to 10ish years, and I have watched them unbalance the game over and over with the paid tanks. Not every vehicle in the pay store is broken, but the majority of them certainly feel like they are just flat out better.

The in game economy is bad to the point that you are, yet again, incentivized to purchase a premium account.
Some of the countries havent had their vehicles rebalanced in years, and they have slowly become worthless (RIP American heavy line). The game honestly has one of the most toxic communities that I have ever seen and the developers do absolutely nothing to handle that.

So, if you have never played World of Tanks before, I suggest you pass on it. Its a free game though, so give it a try if you are that bored. Just go into it armed with the knowledge that it starts up kinda fun and then drives that "gimme money" attitude home after about tier 5.

True to my word, they added PvE and I came back. Really enjoying getting to solve puzzles and find treasure with my friends and just enjoy having a good time on the high seas.

So bottom line, this game isnt worth buying. Right now, its on sale for $4.99 and it isnt worth that price. This game is a very poor port of the console title.

The controls have had little attention put into them, to make them functional on PC. My experience has been riddled with game crashes and enemies getting stuck somewhere on the map, which forces me to restart levels constantly.

The Front Missions franchise was a very solid game series, back when it was a turn based RPG. The "Front Mission Evolved" game was basically the death of the franchise, but I had remembered enjoying it enough on console to merit a $5 purchase.

Im writing this in hopes that if anyone else gets that nostalgic feeling for the franchise, I can save them the time and money.

Ive seen this game a handful of times and always had that vague memory of playing it, but not remembering if I did or why I quit. Downloaded the game and remember about 30 seconds into the tutorial "oh yeah, this was the MMO that didnt have mouse inversion"
Game looks kind of interesting and I know Ive downloaded it at least once before, but I cant play games that wont let me invert the mouse.
