Amazing game and well worth your time. Been popping in to play here and there since alpha, and its improved drastically recently. Its so much fun to play with a group of friends.

Literal crack. This game alone got me into the deckbuilding rogue-like genre and has become one of my favorite games ever. <3

Game was great before it got dropped by the dev... i think the dev is a full blown ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for not continuing this project.

Im not kidding, if this game did not have spawn as a character, I would not play it. Literally only playing due to my love for Todd McFarlane.

Game is amazing still. Every character can win in a tourney. If you are on the fence, please buy this. Even if you and one other friend just play together, its a friggin blast. Any issues I had in my original review have been fixed and expectations well exceeded.

I adore this game. Smash is what got me into the fighting genre and I hold that game dear. It helped me branch out into SF, Tekken, BB, GG, UNIEL, Skullgirls, etc. I picked this game up in early access around 2015 if I'm not mistaken and played with it a little, but at the time I was very heavy into SM4SH, Melee, and Project M, so I let it sit around. With the announcement of Smash for Switch, I got the urge to play some Smash/Smashish games and looked through my list. I remembered I had this and installed it alongside brawlhalla, Melee, PM, and a few others. I booted this up, setup my mayflash GC adapter and off we went.

I haven't gotten this much enjoyment out of a game in a very, very long time. I happened to pick it up again around the time of Sylvanos and Elliana launched and it couldnt have been timed any better. The game feels polished, fast, easily played on all systems just about, and has something thats been lacking in a lot of recent games imo which is fun and hype.

• 13 Characters as of [4/14/18], this is more of a want than a con. The characters in game are flushed out and great as is.
  
• Cannot get a lot of custom DLC costumes if purchased recently or missed previous opportunities. Excalibur Akin/Shine Skin/Genesis Skin/etc.

It has the hype and pacing of melee while being its own unique fighter with epic characters and a great design. The only con I have is I wish there was more! This game could really keep up with smash if it got a bit of a bigger roster and a fleshed out story. (No slight at all against the small dev team, they are talented ballers as far as I'm concerned.) Good platform fighters are rare... we pretty much wait on Nintendo. It would be awesome for RoA to fill the gap that Nintendo refuses to fill, such as Melee style tech in newer games and competitive competition at the core of the game. This is a fantastic competitive game as well and I really hope to see a RoA 2, or hell make another edition with some upgrades in the future, either way, I need more RoA in my life.

I honestly wish I would have played this game seriously sooner.

So i want to make a review for anyone on the fence about Cuphead and Mugman.

Pros:
- Megaman/Contra Style Gameplay: [10/10] amazing controls, great weapons, and you feel as if you are doing proper damage which seems to be lacking in most games

- Music: The music is right out of the 30's style and the sound effects match it 100%

- Artstyle: [10/10] All hand drawn and animated afterwards in whatever program they used. You can really tell these devs spent a LOT of time and effort making this game beautiful and extremely fun to play

- Difficulty: [10/10] HARD AS NAILS. This game is extremely challenging but fair at the same time. Requires precise timing and memorization of the bosses forms and when you play co-op... the bosses health doubles. AMAZING

- Replayability:[9/10] I see myself playing this game many many times over. It has the Binding of Isaac difficulty but with an art style and game scenario I've never seen before. Once you beat it you unlock Hard mode which I cannot wait to master.

This is truly a masterpiece

Cons:
- Can be speedrun in 9 hours or so. I dont mind this since most people would have a HELL of a time beating the first 4 bosses. It takes a LOT of patience and skill to master act one. I can see a LOT people giving up in that time. Thats really it. I want it to be a 200 hour game its just that good.

-No Online Multiplayer: Its only a couch co-op which i really wish they would fix... but in the same sentence, there arent many couch co-ops that are on this level or that i would play with most people. I usually default to fighters since there is such a lack of couch co-ops now that don't get boring within 30 minutes. This one I can see my friends and I nailing through a bunch of times after a couple beers without ever getting bored.

If you thought you were getting "a family friendly 1930's cartoon style game"

You're ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wrong. Its Dark Souls 4 but plays like Megaman.

20 bucks on steam and to be honest i would have paid 100 for this game. Its just absolutely astounding and one of the best games i have ever played in my life. Im on Act 2 right now and i just cannot get enough of the game.

The game is incredibly optimized and works great with any controller.

I beat one level with my fight-stick and it felt almost natural... but because i played SO MUCH Mega Man as a kid i had a hard time adjusting to it, so the controller it was.

It is totally playable on the KBM but this one just begs for a controller and it makes total sense. I have a SNES controller that i may map this too and give it a shot and try and recreate the old MegaMan/Contra feel.

Seriously... dont drink Starbucks for a couple days and pick this game up. I cannot explain how fantastic this game is.

Seriously do not buy this.

1. The game is dead online. You will need to be in discords to find games and even then the groups are small.

2. There are more players playing UMVC3 than this, go play that.

3. You CAN add some improvements to this game, but its still fugly as hell and unstable. I bought it on launch for full price and played it a few hours before never touching it again.

The game is good mechanically, but everything else is such crap that it ruins the only good thing it has going for it.

RIP SFV. Go get SF6.
