The Game is just and simply, with one word saying enough, AWESOME. When you play through it the first time you will probably think ''Hm, well this looks interesting, but all the same in the end, right? Well lets at least give it another try'' FTL isnt build so you get everything in one try. You have to explore the whole galaxy endless times, sometimes make more risky decisions and dare your fate to see what comes out. Sometimes it is better to listen to others, sometimes not. Here an example. In one game i got boarded by pirates AND unlocked a new Ship-Design by listening to AI. So sometimes you just have to trust, even if it hurts. The whole game is just set about exploring, gathering and fighting. Over time you will find out special things, like a weakness in one races shield system, or what to do when you encounter friendly lifeforms on a planet. Also, unique equipment and personell can give you unique opportunities and ways to solve quests more efficient and increase your rewards. The Game is designed with a payload of love and brings you beatiful backgrounds and graphics (in retro-standards). Anyway, heres a little Sum-Up of how i think about the games pros and cons:

+ You learn fast through trial and error, suited even for unexperienced gamers
+ Simple but intense fights with fair AI
+ An ever-changing Universe filled with mystery
+ Different ship designs to start a Game with can be unlocked through special actions and events
+ Balanced money-upgrading system
+ Pause the game whenever you want! So Savepoints or crap like that
+ Take a break whenever you want, pause fights to overthink your strategy
+ Well equipped merchants
+ Realtime dangers like asteroid fields, which dont stop after a fight is over
+ An ever pushing force on your back forcing you to consider your movement wisely
+ Insane earworm-soundtrack which you just can not get enough of
+ A retrofeeling comes up instantly, for all you Retro-Fans out there! (Including me)
+ I have never encountered glitches, bugs or anything else
+ Lovely Graphics
+ GIANT BONUS: IT'S CHEAP!!!

okay, even the best game has some flaws, I can only think of one though:

- The Boss is insanely hard to beat and is a giant boulder of obliteration on your road to victory

All in all, this Game is just awesome, and i would not consider it impossile to bring out a second part with even more features. Anyway, a definite must have for fans of retro and round based gameplay and definitely just a game which totally delivers the ''Just-One-More-Turn(Jump)-Mood''
