It's a good DLC.
Adds more content, a different style of play.
I like getting tastes of different flavors when it comes to abilities because you get the sense between the 4 playable characters in this series are using what they have in their own significant ways. You play as one of the main villians, who seems to have some sort of remorse for what he's done. It's really up to you if you want to sympathize with him or not, there's a canon ending of course, otherwise DOTO wouldn't happen.
You need the other DLC "Brigmore Witches" or whatever it's called to get the full experience otherwise it might cut out abruptly.

Genuinely the worst out of all the DLCs.
This has not been play tested.
Not thoroughly enough at least.
There are many bugs, there are many oversights, there are many clear and frustrating issues if you are planning on 100%ing this game.
I'll tell you right now, there are three achievements regarding this DLC that are notorious for being quite honestly some of the most devious and evil achievements I have ever had the displeasure of obtaining.
I kid you not, a great deal of playtime was sunk just to get these three achievements.
There is a saving grace for the "Run and Gun" achievements where you have to get only headshots without missing a shot, the last room has a wall with no collision in the bookshelf by the exit door.
And if you want the headshot to register on the last assassin climbing the staircase out the window, you have to aim above his head even though it makes no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sense what so ever.
Sometimes the game freaks out and the staircase guy has no AI and stands still, but even if you hit him in the head in this state, it will not count. He has to be moving. This is also forgetting to mention the game can spawn two of each target for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason or spawn so many assassins it crashes the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game.

The other two I found to be incredibly painful, was the "By My Hand Alone" and the one with Slowed Time to get perfect scores on all stages including bonus ones.

Honestly if I knew about this before, I probably would've used it, because it genuinely isn't worth the RNG trial and error bullsh*t. Any achievement that's RNG ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ with how physics props react to being in slow-mo or where enemies spawn, just don't bother with it. Install the cheat engine and just modify so you have infinite health and ammo. Spamming bolts in slow-mo will crash your game.

Every other stage and challenge, was fair. Challenging, which is the point, but fair. The RNG in those stages wasn't as nonsensical as those other achievements because you weren't required to keep a streak going or some sort of perfect record. I promise the other two DLC's are much nicer to play than this one. I promise the 2nd and DOTO installments are much more polished than this DLC is. You will have a more pleasant time playing other games in this series casually than you will pulling your hair out in what is honestly some of the most unfair gameplay I have ever played.

What infuriates me the most, is that there used to be cheese. And they patched it out. They made the already tedious bullsh*t more tedious and bullsh*t because you can't bypass a lot of it anymore. They kept the bookshelf in thankfully because I refuse to believe any of the devs beat that stage legitimately.

It's interesting to see where the series started.
No collectables.
An incredibly linear game with enemy ai that could use some work.
The game spawns enemies in consistently annoying triggers playing on the hardest difficulty.
It's an interesting idea to have to drop weapons to get different ones but I'd rather have 4 guns than a machete when stealth is just impossible for the most part. They stand in pairs and refuse to split.
The enemy pathing is also glitchy. Sometimes their AI breaks and they stop moving.
Funnier yet is their pathing breaks but their shooting doesn't so they'll be stuck behind cover shooting the wall trying to kill me.
Overall it's a short game.
The Jungle foliage and materials like tent walls are just incredibly unfair and annoying to traverse because the AI has the upper hand. If you aren't standing in a spot where the ai can't path find you're kind of screwed if you aren't picking them off from a distance.
They get better in the later games of making foliage part of the playground rather than a detriment you cannot use. But it becomes rather overpowered to where you become invisible rather than the NPCs.
Very little replay-ability.
That's 3 games now that take place in a tropical environment.

The only wildlife in this game are pigs.
The birds aren't really something you can interact with or reacts to what you do other than shoot them.

I'm not a fan of the map design.
I feel as if it could've used a bit more work. Especially given that you can't see the enemies coming half the time to you have to resort to camping which is pretty boring.

It's a good thing hob loses his left arm instead of his right because he wouldn't be able to explore the world that only has left handed button signatures

but seriously though, if he had lost his right arm instead, he would've f*cking died which is really funny

Paid 7.52 to give two cents but this honestly isn't the first time I bought a product from an artist/group of artists to have large tits and/or ass on my computer screen.

In regards to bugs, the only bug I really encountered was choosing to wait at the table. The audio of the ending plays throughout the game and you will hear it while going down a different dialogue path which is really distracting because it had nothing to do with the next path I went down. It went away as soon as I reached the end of a different branching path. But it persisted when i exited to main menu.

The secret paths were pretty fair to find. I found both secret character branches, and all I have left are 3-4 images which i really don't care to find or know where to look. I feel like I found all the different interactions but maybe that's another bug that it just doesn't show up in the collection because I found them all in order and I just have two images of Eli which are the 3rd and 4th not showing up and the ones I don't care about being of Chris.

In regards to price this is definitely a "support the artists" kind of game rather than one that has much replay ability. I don't usually play romance games in general and this is a very 'no consequence' approach which fits the name. There was a lot of stuff I personally am not into in this game, but it's a wide net so people will probably see one thing they like.

No offence to the voice over but some of the lines, or at least the mixing was a little off which kind of ruined the mood a tad. But that's understandable given if you're spam clicking or the music doesn't line up properly to help mask the fact there ain't much ambiance. Was there ambiance? I felt the room got quiet when you were talking to somebody. I honestly wasn't paying very close attention. It might be fine, but it felt below par. Audio is pretty important for stuff like this. It might've been my own fault but I honestly have no clue.

For a game that's about parkour and keeping a rhythm going, there are a lot of "you need a grappling hook" than I would've thought in a game like this.
I mean the online features of scoreboards are also obviously hacked or something because you have people traveling a considerable distance in 2 seconds when I can't even get there in under 40.
I don't understand the appeal to commentary channels that had this game playing in the background with how terrible the geometry is. Like you can go up in most places but getting back down is impossible because the game isn't designed to have controlled falls and grab onto ledges because you don't have much control when falling if you want to change direction. And if you don't go far enough you grab onto a ledge instead of dropping down.

I mean the collectables are fun for me, but a lot of them are impossible to reach without a grappling hook.
This isn't even like a metroidvania.
The grappling hook seems to be the only upgrade you can get that would allow you to reach these places.
Its its its not my favorite game.
It's really hard to gauge what the expected outcome is.
As well as the detection of certain objectives just being finicky.
I mean I found myself softlocked and couldn't fast travel or movement mechanics my way out of my position.
The game is usually good about geometry but there's a lot of places where the hitboxes and interaction is just lazy.
Like to the point where I can't really play around it other than to just avoid it entirely.
As well as the runner's echo thing straight up misleading me constantly and telling me to go the long way and lose time. It's really annoying.
It's not even like anything I write here will be added or fixed.
I'm just complaining.
EA can suck a ♥♥♥♥.

This isn't as bad as I thought it would be...
But it isn't very good either.
Granted I haven't made it very far into the game, but the thing holding me back is how bad the combat is.
It's an integral part of progression but made incredibly worse to the fact that weapon switching doesn't register if you do it too fast between swings or throws and you'll end up punching a deer with a rock in your hand instead of hitting it with a stick.

The AI has quite honestly an unfair advantage I don't really agree with.
The fact they can scale walls by running into them while my character struggles to make it up a slight incline is annoying. You can climb trees if they're at just the right angle, as well as stumps and other debris making you miss your hits because you're above the hitbox of the animal or weird pumpkin headed guy that makes you cold.

This game had a promising foundation but they just muddle it when they really didn't need to. Your flashlight is permanently on wasting it's battery. Your stamina bar is really small but recharges almost instantaneously. You can only cook mushrooms and meat. You can't combine the two or anything. The game straight up told be via an achievement that cooked mushrooms and cooked meat are the only two meals in the game which is sad.
You can still eat berries and canned food and energy bars.

I think it's very lenient for the game to allow you to transport your tent and workbench with items inside of it. I don't like how tedious it is to hunt deer in this game. Killing boars is simple enough. Wolves too because they don't run away. But you can only get pelts from deer. Or at least from my playtime this is the case. And quite honestly I'm already bored of this gameplay loop with how finicky it is and how unrewarding it is.

Plus you have to wait until your target is no longer stunned to stun them again even if they're moving about. It seems random when they're no longer immune to being stunned as well as rocks not actually hitting their target even when the target is locked. There's a lot more spam clicking which is really annoying.

It's hard to judge older titles given that games have improved for the most part.
The controls for this game on keyboard are finicky.
Plugging in my controller didn't improve my experience.

I found myself struggling quite a bit in the early stages. It took quite a bit before I was allowed to free roam.
The game takes a collectathon approach to a game style that really doesn't match the collecting nature. They had a much better approach to collecting things in the next two games, albeit the 4th installment still being considerably worse than the 3rd.

The weapons are very clunky and don't feel as satisfying to land hits with. And the weapon switch and swap are still incredibly hard for me to get the hang of. Which includes using explosives. The timed charges I find myself spamming keys to activate because it never seems to go off when I activate them the first time.

I haven't beaten the game. I plan on doing so at some point to get the achievements.
The game could've done a better job of establishing information because sometimes I find myself being unable to progress when all I had to do was somehow find the trigger for a cutscene.

The casino rescue and car chase was honestly one of the worst things I have ever played in a game like this. It was so incredibly rng dependant that it really wasn't fun to trial and error until I beat it. I do have the game on the highest difficultly, but that had very little effect on the outcome. Taking more damage and dealing less won't change how many enemies spawn and come after you.

I dunno, I got it for cheap. I wouldn't recommend getting it for anything more than on sale.
It's quite honestly just interesting to see where the franchise started and comparing it to where it is now.

This is my favorite character.
He kind of sucks in close quarters which is half the stages.
Sometimes when I don't want to headshot freaks the headshot hits and messes up a collat or ignites nearby environmental traps and explosives.
I guess he's over powered in some gamemodes and stages, but for the most part if it's not an open area he sucks ♥♥♥♥ and his two perks will just kill you instead.
Being able to toss more explosives and having headshots be explosive is pretty bad indoors.

He moves slow and is slow to pick up the pace.
I honestly can't find myself grinding out the second stage in the campaign with any other character on expert with max spawns to get money and upgrade stones. He's just too good for crowd control and focus fire. Other characters are weak in that they're more specialized than generalists.
A well rounded character for a solo game.
Somewhat busted and unfair you have to pay to unlock him.
Give and take...
DLC costed literally nothing it was like 20 cents.
Ain't worth 7 bucks.
Don't buy for 7 bucks.

the objectives in this game are kind of f*cking stupid given that you don't have anything that you need to complete said objectives but the game doesn't give two sh*ts whether you have the required resources or even at least discovered the required resources.
The game is pretty much like, "I don't care, gimmie a bronze sword and I'll give you food that doesn't replenish your sp only health even though the combat is pretty linear and is a really bland soulslike."

This is stupid. The characters are forgettable. They all look the same except like three of them. The bear, the weirdo debt collector, and the guy that rides a horse and clips through the floor constantly.

How tf are you supposed to make money to meet deadlines when you're constantly spending it to buy the only way to get certain things. I have to pay 200 gol to buy a tool upgrade kit but I lose 80 gol on quest complete and don't make back everything I spent? It's not even like you know what quests require before you take them on so you don't take on quests that literally aren't work your time in the slightest.

Yo, this game f*cking sucks.

edit 1:

Yo this game really f*cking sucks.

The combat is genuinely some of the worst in any souls like ever.
There's no crosshair, which wouldn't be that big of an issue if you could target specific enemies or lock onto specific enemies, but the game automatically and arbitrarily decides which enemy you meant to target and not actually and intentionally swung at.
This game will teleport you to the "nearest" enemy regardless of where you are and where the enemy is.
You will teleport into a wall, you will teleport into a hazard and get poisoned and die because poison is a slow but gradual kill, you will teleport into an enemy's attack when they completely missed and only hit you because you teleported into their fire.
This game's combat is sooooo f*cking bad.
Bosses will heal to full if you knock them too far away from their spawn position, not to mention bosses have unavoidable attacks that will garanteed hit you even if you dodge roll away. The dodge roll is a glorified invulnarability move but regardless of being unable to be hit, still get hit.
And the trinkets you can equip to "do more damage" or "do more ciritcal damage" is so f*cking bad because they don't actually do anything. A 200% damage increase still takes two hits to kill a level 1 llama which is the starting enemy of the game. I do over 200 damage per swing and it only one shots on crit on a creature that has less than 200 health. It only one shots to a crit, anything other than a crit takes two. Which is f*cking stupid.

Don't even get me started on the core gameplay. There's so many random ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ items that take hours of in game time to make. Does the game really expect you to make multiple stations to be making items at the same time? I don't have the space, or the money to make more space. Why the ♥♥♥♥ does 1 bronze plate take the same amount of time to make as a sheet of fabric?
Why does smelting stone into brick take more time than smelting iron into bars. It doesn't make any sense. It takes days to get the parts to craft the things you need to make the thing to craft other parts you need for the quest that expires in 5 days.
It's so tedious because the game expects you to sit there and baby sit your buildings instead of going off and gathering more materials.
This is genuinely one of the worst gameplay loops to start your game with.
On top of the fact the skill tree does literally nothing. A 5% decrease in materials when crafting? Wow! I can't wait to upgrade that 3 more times into a 20% less materials used which rounds down instead of up! Wow I literally have to use the same amount of materials because 20% of anything less than 5 of an item doesn't actually do anything? WoW!
I don't understand why games do this. It's one thing if you can do something in bulk where that actually applies, but for the most part you aren't crafting anything that can be reduced by 20%. Or even just the beginning reduction because there's literally nothing in the game that gets effected by a 5% discount of resources used. There is so much quantity over quality in this game.
The sheer amount of random garbage, unecessary crafting materials, and overall useless items you'd find from mob drops like in runescape or maplestory.
The economy doesn't make much sense either because it doesn't shift day to day. So the fact that one day suddenly prices have increased by 38% doesn't make any sense especially if it stays like that for several weeks. I don't have any space to farm. I don't have any space to store items in chests. How do you unlock the 2 rows of storage that are x'd out? There's nothing in the skill tree. Is it an upgrade for wooden chests somewhere down the line? Or is it just made up nonsense?
Why do you have to pay to unlock your inventory slots?
Why does it make sense to have literally hundreds of npcs but not know where any of them are? You see blue dots on the map, but none of those signify who is who. I don't know their schdules. I don't know where they live. Why is it like that? It's not a small town either. You literally spend 3 hours from your place to reach the summit on foot. The scale if so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ redundant, and mounts just get stuck and spaz out so it's faster on foot for the most part. Why even bother?
