I loved the first game, this is exactly what I hoped for! Even prettier art, great story in the same style, refined gameplay, and... more of what I loved about the first one, with extra things like the boat travel! :) Heartily recommended, and I begrudge having to sleep instead of keep playing! :)

I utterly loved this game! I know taste may vary, but the things that came up about this game didn't phase me, I adored the thoughtful level design, exploring more of the Pillars world, and the feeling that I was having a measurable impact through the choices I made. I will definitely replay as a mean wizard at some point to see what that's like! :)

Original review:

I've had some of the most fun I've had in ages playing this! :) As someone who finds combat boring, I am LOVING playing combat as I have to think and there's a real danger to getting hit. The story is neat, and I'm liking some of the unexpected events on the way, but currently am waltzing through the side quests like nobody's business. :)

I think in terms of interactivity... imagine a top-down RPG, but from first person - I personally loved Pillars of Eternity, so with that mindset it's a solid game. I could see it not being everyone's cup of tea, but for me, it feels like the games I grew up with, and as someone looking into making my own games there's a lot to take away.

I'm running this on Linux Mint, and once I updated my graphics card drivers, the Proton magic is working a treat. Before I updated them I was getting 2fps, and now it is playable! :)

Highly recommended if this is your style of RPG. :)

This is a "yes" with a LOT of asterisks next to it... It would be 100% recommend if it were given an update and some love after launch.

To start with the good:
- I enjoyed exploring the game, and unravelling the story.
- Cool take on a hidden object/walking sim game
- Quite satisfying to solve the puzzles
- Philip K ♥♥♥♥ references all over the shop! :)
- Such a brilliant unique art style and premise! I really did sit going "how the heck did they do that" at times.
- The world created, and seeing it through the lenses of each reality absolutely nailed the PKD science fiction approach, it was awesome seeing it in an exploreable environment.
- I'm thrilled this game exists and couldn't put it down.

And now for the less good things that could definitely have been fixed:
- Made my relatively beefy PC struggle with frame rate and cranked my fans up to full... for reference, I can play GTA V at 60fps without an issue.
- I needed a guide to do some hidden object puzzles, as quite a few were things I had found, but I just couldn't get the icon to appear without vanishing when I turned to click on it. I was using the guide as a "yes, you did find it, try standing in this really specific spot and looking at this angle" (sometimes this still didn't work and I'd end up doing weird things to make it work or reloading the level)
- Needed to reload at a really climactic part of the game because the thing used to progress the level.... didn't actually appear until I reloaded. Kind of took me out the game a bit having to look that one up.
- One of the achievements is flat-out broken (talk to all NPCs) - people tend to edit their save files to get this achievement.
- You slide down stairs when standing stationary on them (I'd imagine this is quite an easy thing to fix depending on how movement is handled)

So... all in all... I paid £0.67 for a really fun evening! Sure I have some hang-ups about how nice a patch would have been to resolve the things that irked me, but... even at £6.00 I'd have not felt cheated. I had a blast. :) Admittedly I'm a massive Philip K ♥♥♥♥ fan, and love his books, but I'll be coming back to this more than once I think. :) You can see the conflict I have, as technically no probably not a great experience for people... but I had a ball. :)

I'm actually on the page because I wanted to recommend it to someone! :) I really was immersed in the story and binged it! It's a neat idea, and I loved it.

It might be one I've not played for a while, but it stuck with me. :)

I came into the series with Fallout 3... loved it...heaven knows how many hours I've sunk into it between 360, Steam, GOG... great game. Then I played New Vegas... This was in a lot of ways even better! Then I found some videos about Fallout 1 and 2... and I love those too! :) What a great time to have so many good fallout games! :)

This one is so tightly packed, with the perfect tone, humour, choice... the whole thing is executed brilliantly. :) Plays okay on a Windows 10 machine, and I will keep replaying it with new character builds until it doesn't! :)

It's fantastic. It's literally everything I ever wanted to see in a booking simulator - accessible, customisable, doesn't get in the way, but understands wrestling in a way that lets you see any idea come to life.

I wanted a game like this so badly that I spent 3 years learning Unity and tried to make it. I have come back to Journey of Wrestling after a few years after being lured with the Steam release... and I don't think there's a need to make that game idea any longer. It's just... well, it's brilliant and exactly what I wanted to create.

It's utterly, utterly what I always wanted to play. I can't tell if I feel thrilled and liberated, or sad to say goodbye to my hard work and move onto making another game altogether. Either way, if you want a wrestling booking game, I think you can't do any better.

If you need depth, there's TEW, if you need simplification there's WWE's offerings... if you want a middle ground that you can be creative in and still know what's going on... this is it! This is the perfect game for me to play. :) I can't recommend JOW enough! :)

That was a unique and thoughtful experience! :) I've played through three times now, and will no doubt come back. The idea for the game is pure genius, I've never seen a game explore a concept in such a game-mechanic way. It made me feel pretty peaceful, and I enjoyed trying to get faster in each playthrough.

It's short, and my word would I love to play more levels, and learn more. That's not a criticism, for under £1, it punches beyond its price. It's a game that'll stick with me, and I'll definitely follow this developer in the future! :)

(Also the sound design was a really lovely touch, it made the game feel so peaceful in the face of what's normally portrayed as a scary thing)

I saw this game on reddit, and it looked like the exact type of gameplay I love! I'm pleased to say that I am having a lot of fun with this game! :) Just enough depth to be interesting, but just enough of a casual feeling to not be daunting.

The gameplay is very much a tycoon style - and I really appreciate how much personality the game has - it's very pretty to look at, detailed and a great visual style. The music also makes me feel very dapper indeed. :)

I'm at level 2, and am really enjoying the grind of trying to bump my profits up to the hard level! :) The challenges are a great idea, and they really add a lot to the experience (although I'm sure sandbox will also keep me entertained after) :)

Update: It's much less buggy now and looks great graphically. :) Sadly I still can't get over how little attachment I feel to anything in this game's world - it just isn't an RPG as I like them. I should have listened to past me. Back to new vegas I go.

Original review:
I absolutely LOVE Fallout 3 and New Vegas - both are my favourite 360 era RPGs, Oblivion too. Fallout 1 and 2 also are dear to me, and I still happily chug my way through them.

I honestly have on and off tried Fallout 4 on PS4, PC then again on steam, and every time it... just isn't right.

It's buggy, but not in a charming way like the games before, things like textures never loading, quests not working, and then there's the load times... minutes at a time just to enter a subway... it's genuinely a chore to play and travel.

Then there's the fact that I can't get immersed or bring myself to care about the world or the story - the voiced character took this game so far out of what I love about fallout, and made it lose so much of the mystery and feeling I felt playing the game as a different person every time.

Slap onto that a base-building system that again is buggy, and honestly redundant, a bunch of infinite quests that don't seem to help anyone as they're back in peril minutes later, and...

I tried so hard to love Fallout 4, and I know people who have completed it, but at this point, in my opinion, the game's only redeeming feature is the lore and setting. It tries to do way too much, does it badly, and completely forgets what was special about the games before. If it was anything other than fallout I wouldn't have tried this many times.
