Listen lads, I'm just gonn' tell ya, this game is tough, but it sure as hell makes me feel like Mr. Robot when I get it right. One of the most rewarding feelings I've ever had.

It holds your hand, with tons of explanations, but the hand is made of napalm. Be warned.

Honestly, it's one of those rare times where I can forgive many of the game's shortcomings because of how much fun I have, which is honestly, what a game is supposed to be, huh?

I don't review stuff often, but when I do, a game definitely did something right for me. This is not going to be an in depth review, but I'm simply going to say that this was the best $3.50 I've ever spent. This is my favorite type of game, sneaky stealth stuff with shadow powers that doesn't FORCE you to choose between no-kill/kill runs or anything in between, and has a similar difficulty whichever path you choose. And I love it for that. It's probably one of my favorite games. Well done fellas. The mechanics are simple, easy to grasp and go. This is the type of game I'd make if I wasn't garbage at being creative.

There's even apparently online multiplayer, I don't usually do multi, but this looks like it would be fun.

I have no idea whats up with this game. Normally, I hate this type of game... But I watched a bit of "Factorio Beginners Guide" on youtube, looked interesting, and bought it.

I bought it 6 days ago and have 56 hours on record now as of this writing. gg rip.

This is the game I dreamed of when I died for the 700th time in the original.

If this is what they're offering in early access (as of release) I can't imagine the spiciness to come.

The key thing about this game is that it's fun. It's also quite funny with the commentators. The story, though only 3 chapters deep right now, surprised me, they have a solid idea going.

Frankly, this is one of my favorite games, and it'll stay that way if the devs don't forget about it.

I haven't played CoD since Black Ops 1. And coming back to it here, is actually pretty nice. I know what CoD means to the internet these days, and I know how much Activision likes to eat arse... But honestly, if these games weren't released every year like clock work, I think there would be a less hateful bias against it, because frankly? It's pretty good.

I love space and sci-fi, and so far, the game has done quite well in the portrayal of the Martian Arabs' war on the United States of America's Earth and the sci-fi tropes within. The game looks great, and plays very well. I love the attention to "possible" detail of things futuristic. Like the spacecraft you fly for example, as a pilot myself, I really like the design of the craft and the thought put into it. The remastered CoD4 is also a great addition, despite all the cloak and dagger that's been done by Activision and all...

In all honesty, I really think that if CoD wasn't released every damn year, and if Activision didn't try to Greek-f**k your wallet's thighs with its BS, people wouldn't be hating on it so much... It's honestly a good game. It's not genre defining, of course, but niether is BF1.

This is definitely not about ponies.

I had goosebumps.

Edit; Playing it a second time is even creepier.

The amount of time played on my Steam account is only a fraction of how long I've actually played it. (Had it since before release)

Warning; First and foremost, if you like super fast, instant gratification types of games... This is not for you. This game is for those who REALLY enjoy space, like myself, and space ships... Like myself. Because, as I said, warning, the game is pretty slow moving for the most part, even in dog fights.

Now, if that's all okay; this is why you and I want to play this game like it was digital heroin.

Pros;

- The procedural generation of the game, specifically those of stars, planets, entire systems in general, are absolutely mind boggling. They produce some of the most stunning sights ever. If you ever wanted to explore space, you will want this game. Just a side note, the devs took great care to make sure the orbital physics of stations, planets, and their stars were top notch, including even the rotation of stations to give proper gravity distribution where necessary.

- The sound design in this game is probably one of the best I've ever heard. The futuristic wobs of engines, the crackling of energy beams hitting shields, the groaning carcasses of destroyed ships as you pass by them are all just pure candy to the ears.

- Graphically, this game is on fleek, lads. Space is pretty stark, but whatever the game renders for you is stunning. Great particle effects, lighting, etc., and it's all at the smoothest buttery framerate. On top of that, the game will properly render the skybox depending on where you are in the galaxy. You can find some immaculate pictures online where you can see what the galaxy looks like from the edge looking in, or from the center looking out (though, getting to the center will take a while, even with the best loadout).

- Speaking of galaxy... The game is set in a 1:1 scale model of the Milky Way. For reference; with the second best exploration ship in the entire game, it took me 2 entire real world weeks to get to the center of the galaxy and back to civilized space... It's not small. And I saw some amazing things on the way.

- Every single ship in the game is wonderfully crafted and thoughtout. They all feel like they all have different personalities, even if they're similar in one way or another. And (even more prominantly than Star Citizen) each company that makes ships in the game feel very distinct. Like how you can tell the difference of style and design between a Ford and a Nissan, same goes here like with Core Dynamics and Zorgon Peterson. They're also quite impressively massive. The smallest ship is just larger than an average garage.

- Customization of your ships is also top notch, you have to balance whether you want more cargo space, or more power for your weapons, or more power to your Frameshift Drive to let you jump an extra 4 light years. There's a caveat to this which I'll get to in the cons.

- The dog-fights in the game are SKILL BASED. You can play for 500 hours and get the biggest baddest ship, but it won't mean anything if your rank is "Mostly Harmless" because you were trading the entire time. Someone with a much weaker and smaller ship can #360noscope you into oblivion. I mean, it would be REALLY hard, because it's like shooting a tank with a pellet gun at that point, but hey... You can still show off some bad ass skills here and there. And you have to be smart with your loadouts too! When I was a scrub, I had only gimballed weapons. They have a semi-lock on, and you don't have to have the ship pointed at your enemy the entire time to hit them, and some pirate tried to scrap me. I out-classed his piloting skills, but I couldn't hit him because he chaffed me so damn often. Eventually he dropped my shields and then he left because he had no more chaff to screw with my targetting. Since then, I always have at least 1 fixed weapon at all times. lol

- The devs are constantly listening and are always active. There is a MAJOR HUGE update every other month or so, changing the game drastically, and more often than not, for the better. This game is not gonna die out any time soon... I don't wanna add whats coming because I don't want to outdate this review at some point, but they have plans to release major stuff all through 2016.

- It's actually fun to meet up and kill stuff with other players. It's really fun to roleplay in the game, so long as you don't get ganked by jerks... It's honeslty the ultimate nerd space D&D... You can play by yourself, nothing wrong with that, but sometimes the tension of someone coming up behind you and pulling out of super-luminal speed is that bit of spice you can choose to add to your game, if you wish. It's rad.

- You can do... whatever you want... You can go and do missions from bulletin boards and kill a celebrity that talks too much for their own good, you can go buy up as many rare goods and drugs and sell them at massive profits, you can go and fight wars in giant space battles with capital ships and dozens and dozens of ships, you can lie in wait and pounce on anyone who has a bounty without prejudice, or just pick a direction and start jumping through hyperspace and see the wonders of our galaxy.

Again, if you ABSOLUTELY LOVE SPACE this game is for you. You are almost guarenteed to find something you really enjoy in this game, and if not? They'll probably release that something in a future update. :D

Cons;
- I'm sure you heard this one before; it's the size of an ocean, but as deep as a puddle. Though you can do TONS of stuff, you can try all of that stuff quite quickly and say that "you did it all." And for many people, that's just a terrible game. Unfortunately, this game really rewards those who put in their time with tons of dosh, bigger and better ships, and stuff like that... But even the random encounters are quite... lacking from time to time. Essentially, to put it another way, the exciting and actiony parts (even the breath taking sights) are even more exciting because they don't happen often. And that is a deal breaker for many. And, honestly, that's understandable. For me, I'd rather have the monotony of a boring life in SPACE... Than here on Earth. Yuck.

- The game has no... "Story" in the classic sense. You don't hop in a ship and have to follow the great adventures of Commander Chip "Punk Sparkle Windsor" Washington through his journey for delivering dank onionhead to the princess of the Empire while undermining the alliance powers while taking orders from a cybor reanimated ex-president of the Federation. (That actually sounds amazing) No, instead, you hop in a ship... and "do stuff." Again, for some people, that's also a deal breaker, and for me it almost was as well. The only thing that saved it is the lore and the gameplay itself. I love story, but this game has story build around the game, not within it.

- Piggie backing on the last con, the galaxy is only semi-alive. Yes you can roleplay with other players, hell, even if you play solo, what the other players do in community goals can spill into your game as well. Even at every station or anytime in game you can check the news of whats happening in the galaxy. It's interesting, and gives the game a pulse, but it's not often that it's very engaging. If you're really into it, you'll follow it... Otherwise, you'll probably stick to whatever you like doing in the game and pay no mind, even though STUFF HAPPENS... It won't necessarily affect you.

- Though ships are awesomely customizable, some parts are kinda... lacking in explanation, you have to experiment with stuff to understand it better.

- The game is SUPER hard to pick up and play, even with tutorials. It just throws you out there and lets you do your thing, or... lets you flail around like a baby deer for a little while. (I also suggest a flight stick if you can)

Also I ran out of characters to finish my review so basically;

9.5/10 i like space.
