Wow, what a game. Took me a while to beat it because it's just so packed full of content.

Pros:
*The storytelling and cinematics were extremely well done, albeit a tad confusing at times to a MGS noob like myself.
*The gameplay is varied and there are a ton of different ways to tackle any given situation.
*The base upgrade system was cool.
*Awesome 80's music and setting.

The only con:
*I didn't like how you essentially have to replay a bunch of missions on the hardest difficulty in order to get the actual ending. Would have preferred to just have new missions or a shorter game.

I give it a solid 9/10.

Time to re-do my review (again). If you play this game until the credits first roll and then stop, you are missing out on what makes it special. My opinion of the game skyrocketed after seeing it through to the true ending. It was well worth the journey.

Since that time, I have frequently reflected on the events and stories told in this game. I've replayed it and discovered even more to love. So my opinion has changed yet again. This game has seeped into my very soul. I venture to say it may be my favorite game of all time. I cannot think of another game that has had this impact on me.

If you look at it only from a surface level, you will miss a lot. It's a game with an AA budget, for starters. This doesn't have the development dollars of something like Red Dead Redemption 2. It could be easy to find things to nitpick at if you're a critical type. My advice to would-be buyers is to set that mindset aside. Commit yourself to seeing through to the *true* ending (E), avoid spoilers. Open your mind. And let the game do the rest.

I hope this game impacts you the way it did me.

Game is fantastic. Tons of depth and I feel like my choices really matter. There isn't anything else out there to really compare this game to. It is one of a kind and I definitely recommend checking it out. Also, it has some great mods via Steam Workshop.

8.5/10

I originally didn't think I would enjoy this type of game because I don't care about bars, bartending, alchohol, etc. and I'm not really into visual novels.

But the setting and characters drew me in and I found myself wanting to come back daily to check on the people I've met in Glitch City. By the time I reached the end, I was sad to say goodbye. It's a rare occurrence for me.

Definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for something relaxing with interesting characters and dialogue. I found it to be a great game to play in small chunks before bed, perhaps while having a drink.

Easily a 9/10 for me.

Really cool game. If you just follow the path that is put in front of you, it's a solid 2D action game with fluid combat and nice visuals that lasts about 2-3 hours. However the best parts of it are when you choose to disobey the narrator and go off on your own. Similar to The Stanley Parable in that regard.

7/10

The game itself I love, and wholeheartedly recommend--one of my favorite games of all time, and a fantastic MMO. But I must criticize the Steam version because Square Enix recently thought it would be a good idea to lock people out of logging into the Steam version's launcher with their regular Windows account, a feature that has been there since the beginning and was completely harmless.

There are community workarounds, but it's a hassle that this needs a workaround in the first place.

I actually bought this game twice, the second time being here on Steam, just so I could use my regular Windows account but still have access to the nifty community features that Steam adds, like community screenshots, etc. It may seem insignificant to some, but Square Enix has essentially added a really annoying roadblock with no necessary reason and devalued my Steam purchase.

Beautiful game with a stunning soundtrack and gorgeous art style combined with metroid-like gameplay. One of my favorite games of recent memory.

This is a masterpiece. The story is so well written and unique. You owe it to yourself to play it especially if you seek games that make you feel. Very memorable game and very much worth your time. No need to wait for a sale. This is worth it at full price.

9.5/10 feels.

An extremely charming game with beautiful music and great narration. I never felt frustrated by the platforming. It's quite a relaxing game. Worth buying, worth playing.

This is one of the few mobile games that has been able to hold my interest over the past year or so. I've put a lot of time into it and feel the need to recommend it to others. So I'm gonna go ahead and give this a thumbs up and I'll tell you why. I can't really speak for the PvP because that's not why I played this game. But if you're looking for a fun little distraction that will allow you to keep progress in sync between your phone and PC (there aren't many of those), this is a good one and I don't understand why it's getting so much hate.

The port needs some work--I won't argue with that. It's functional but it would be nice to see higher frame rates and more options better suited to PC. The game iself has a nice art style and music from respected artists and composers involved with Final Fantasy games. It has simple yet fun gameplay, and heck it even has a story! Not a great story by any means, but it at least has some witty dialogue here and there. Collecting units is fun. There are lots of cross-over events bringing in characters from Final Fantasy, Full Metal Alchemist, and more. They give out free stuff regularly.

Sure, it's no Hearthstone in terms of PvP battles or balance. But the game certainly isn't bad if you play it for the campaign and unit collection. It's actually quite good as long as you aren't expecting a load of depth. Even with the free-to-play model I never once felt forced to pay my way to victory while playing through the story.

TLDR: It's free. Check it out yourself if you're on the fence. You may find a fun little gem.
