I wish this game got the recognition it deserved. I wish it wouldn't end on a cliffhanger. Alas, that was not to be. Still, even despite that it's worth playing. Graphics may look a bit dated now but it still has charm and awesome story written by Orson Scott Card - the author of Ender's Game. What hasn't aged at all is the soundtrack (the Advent Rising Suite has even been performed by the VIdeo Games Live).

There's a lot going on in there: spaceships, 3rd person combat, varied locations - and all that way before Mass Effect has been created.

If you can stomach the cliffhanger give this gem a try.

Early Access Review
This game is in early access and it shows. Due to that there are some physics and performance problems but the devs are working on that. Another feature I (and rest of community) am waiting for is community content so there are new types of ships to figure out. There’s a lot of space for improvement and devs stay active on the game’s discord.

Overall – even with this early version I feel I already got my money’s worth and it can only get better from here. It’s worth to give the game a try (you can easily figure out in 2 hrs if you like how it works). Also for the time being this has replaced my previous “zen” game – it’s great to start a movie and relax cutting ships and watching.

There’s already a lot here to love. Various ship systems you have to figure out. Interesting tidbits of environmental storytelling via logs found in the ships, progress curve gradually introducing new subsystem in the ships you cut, work orders that give “currency” to upgrade your gear. The music that just fits the feel of the game.
Be aware though that it’s quite early version! There are 2 types of hulls to cut (with varying degrees of complication – the subsystems are introduced step by step so one hull results in many options) and getting to higher certifications requires noticeable amount of grinding.

The timer people get so annoyed about doesn’t make the game worse at all – it just imposes some (but not too much) urgency on what you do and getting a positive end-day balance is absolutely no problem regardless if you’re cutting a bigger or a smaller ship. You can also get to know the layout of each ship in free mode (sandbox) but this doesn't count towards progress in the game.

New XCOM out of the blue and for a wonderful price too. While we can't name our guys we get a new approach to missions with breaching mechanic, division of missions into encounters and aliens in our team. All of this make for a wonderful breath of fresh air and a product worthy of XCOM brand.

Early Access Review
A great sequel to a wonderful series. New dishes, new twist on the story, new characters - there's just more of everything and it works wonderfully despite the fact that the game is in early access. At an affordable price that's a lot of content too!

Developers are very responsive, interact with community on Discord and take into account reported bugs. I wish all the early access games were like that.

After all these years it's still a buggy, broken mess - and on top of that they release awfully expensive DLC map that is a repurposed ARMA 3 map.

Just avoid this, there are better ways to spend that money. A lot of them.

Don't get this game even on a deep, deep sale. AI is dreadful, the game actively wastes your time with unskippable timers when picking up stuff, has various other annoyances.

On top of that $10 FOR ADDITIONAL SAVE SLOT. Seriously?!? Fu*cKonami. If you like MGS play any other game from the franchise.

Only good thing is that deinstallation goes fine.

Can be called Minecraft in space - but instead of chasing creepers you get to make offerings to Clang, praised be His name!

Interesting story, cyberpunk setting, nice delivery. I really liked this game - despite lack of real impact of player choices the story was engaging for me and made for a nicely spent Saturday.

I loved the art direction on this thing - it definitely found some inspiration in Blade Runner and the "low poly" thing works really well.

Quality of voice acting is also a huge pro.

One thing though - the asking price is definitely too high. Get it on sale.

A good but not flawless spiritual successor to Theme Hospital. The devs constantly add new stuff, listen to sensible community requests and DLCs are quite reasonably priced.

Even at full price the game is worth it. For me it was a real treat in times when there was no new System Shock for such a long time...

Get the version with Mooncrash too, it's a good DLC.

Arkane delivers again.
