Report a translation problem
Mvek reported some issues with Barbarians (see below). I have doubts that this is because of the map; and suspect more it's VP and some new bugs/interactions with other mods after their newest release. The added code for this scenario is so minimal, it really shouldn't trigger what's being reported.
Remember that this version of the map is the SCENARIO: it has pre-set civilizations and city states, with some slight modifications for balance.
If you want to test if your problems come from another mod, you could play a game on the "Map Only"-version of this map. It's just a map, so whatever problem you run into must come from somewhere else: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1272973963
I will try Spain on your map as a map, not scenario, too and also on your map without any mods to be sure.
Note that this file is a SCENARIO: it means it has starting locations and some fine-tuning included in its code.
If you want to play with other nations than the ones listed above or be absolutely sure to encounter lots and lots of Barbarians, try the MAP ONLY version. That one is just the map file, nothing that could screw anything up (alas, its starting locations are totally random, so you may end of with some head-scratchers for your first city):

Other netaions (at least India and Vikings) are fine even here.
Another strange thing is that when playing with Vox Populi and starting as India or Vikings, I have not encountered any Barbarians. And yet when playing random map, I encounter them a lot and tough.

World Builder is not a convenient tool; it feels like a quick and dirty port of a developer tool, put out by Firaxis as a courtesy on no budget. The thing I found most helpful in designing those two maps I added to the Workshop was to save each world every once in a while while I was working on it, start up a minimal game with it (two civs/no mods), then F12 screenshot the terrain so I could look at them when back in the builder. Little tip: when in a game, [Shift]~ will give you the option to clear the FoW so you can look at your map whole
1) I added this map pack to the ../civ5/maps
2) I added this map pack to the ../civ5/MODS/Maps (Created new folder named "Maps")
Just in case i copied folder + 2 files out of folder as well.
It helped me, so I hope it helps you too :)
That's what I would do. Fiddle with it. It usually eventually works for me with other mods I subscribe to.
Both of the scenarios (G&K and BNW) are set to Epic. That can't be changed.
Once you find that newly downloaded "Continents++ BNW Edition (v 1)" folder, open it and copy the .Civ5Map file that's in it and paste it into your Civ V "Maps" folder, too. Next time you start Civ V with this Mod activated, the map will be available under the "Additional Maps" menu. Click on the last slide above - there you'll have the necessary steps listed also.
If you had problems starting the BNW scenario, try to:
Unsubscribe on Steam, go to
C:\Users\Owner\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\MODS, and also C:\Users\Owner\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5\Maps
(or the respective folders you choose to install Civ V files into)
and delete the Continents++ files. Then re-subscribe on Steam and this time it will all install properly (two clearly separate files for the G&K and the BNW scenarios).
Sorry about that.
