Stargate Mod: War Begins

Description
October 2024 Update:

- Various improvements on Tau'ri ships
- Resized Tau'ri, Goa'uld and Wraith Fighters to work better with game engine
- Added LODs for Tau'ri fighters, turrets and missiles to improve game performance
- Replaced some old textures

- Various FX fixes and improvements (lights, trails, shield etc.)
- Various Animation fixes
* mainly hangar bay doors
- Various sound fixes and balancing (sound overlapping, missing sounds, too loud sounds etc.)
* fixed Dart Engine Sound

- Fixed Dauntless Cruiser Hardpoint Crash
- Fixed Tau'ri mine Crash
- Fixed Ancient Shuttle Crash
- Fixed Shield for Omens of War mini-mission

- Minor fixes and optimisations of things

- Gameplay changes/improvements/balancing:
* Rebalanced Health of ships, battles are slower
* Changed range settings for long range and close range combat
* Added "Collision" weapon to the Tau'ri mine (kamikaze enemy ship)
* Decreased strength of glider anti-capital weapon
* Added/fixed second anti-capital gun for deathglider
* Faster anti-fighter missiles for F301 (they were not able to catch targets sometimes)
* Added properly armed Ancient Battleship (drone version of the ship as Aurora)
* Reverted back to some old ship icons for better GUI spacing

- Known Issues:
* Weapons sometimes penetrating shield (might not be fixable, game engine thing?)
* Balancing of many missions
* Ships targeting only hangar area
* Behavior for Huge Ships (interaction with fighters mainly)

Skirmish

Download Skirmisher from http://www.arparso.de/nexus/

Copy the Nexus Skirmisher folder from X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Nexus The Jupiter Incident\mods\Stargate Mod War Begins (Beta) folder to your skirmisher X:\Steam\steamapps\common\Nexus - The Jupiter Incident\mods\Nexus Skirmisher folder and overwrite if prompted.

The use of skirmisher: You use it as before, but you have to select the "WarBeginsSkirmisher" Mission Type in the upper right corner of the program for your shields to work properly. IF YOU DON'T SELECT IT, SHIELDS WON'T WORK!

Multiplayer

The use of the singleplayer/multiplayer mutator:In the Stargate Mod War Begins Beta Folder there are two new files: Mod to MP.bat and Mod to SP.bat. Press Mod to SP to turn it into Singleplayer and Mod to MP to turn it into multiplayer.

Playing Multiplayer: You need hamachi installed and you have to be online on one of our hamachi servers. You launch the mod, select join/start multiplayer server and select LAN. From there it's quite self-explanatory.

ty ty this is amazing, next question and sorry to bother you but do you know how to disable the engine animation? its weird to have the massive yellow line behind the ship as it moves

Yeah, that is not that hard, as long as you want to do simple model swap that is. Might be a little buggy for various reasons but should not crash the game... possibly.

First of all, back up game files or be ready to delete manually entire game folder (in case something goes wrong). Quickest way would be to take \Stargate Mod War Begins\textures folder and copy it into main game folder "Nexus The Jupiter Incident" and do not make it replace any files. Then go to \Stargate Mod War Begins\meshes\Wraith\ and copy hive.msh to \Nexus The Jupiter Incident\meshes\earth\main\. Next, rename hive.msh to keyship.msh and let it replace original keyship.msh.

AngelWing should look like Wraith Hive now.

Oh, I see... go to \Steam\steamapps\common\Nexus The Jupiter Incident\mods\Stargate Mod War Begins\NEXUS Skirmisher\_templates\ a copy .mach_ files into \Steam\steamapps\common\Nexus The Jupiter Incident\mods\NEXUS Skirmisher\_templates\ and restart Nexus Skirmisher (if it was running).

You should be able to chose mission type after that.

So I have downloaded the skirmisher. No issues.

Unfortunately I am unsure how to get the shield to engage straight away.

I am unsure by the guide you provided
