Affliction Chance: Reversed

Description
Are you tired of your heroes getting constantly afflicted? Do you wish that virtue and affliction chances were swapped with each other? If your answer is yes, then this mod is just what you were looking for.

What Does This Mod Do?
This mod swaps the affliction base chance with the virtue base chance. Effectively, you'll have a virtue base chance of 75% and an affliction base chance of 25%. Additionally, this mod sets the minimum chance for affliction or virtue to 10% and the maximum to 90%, ensuring that trinkets and effects can still alter these chances. However, the chances will never drop below 10% or exceed 90%, regardless of how many modifiers are used.

Special Notes
The Flagellant is unaffected by this mod due to a special setting in its class file that guarantees it will always get afflicted with its unique affliction called Rapturous.

Some modded classes have their own custom afflictions/virtues. Classes with custom afflictions/virtues do not use the shared settings, making them unaffected by this mod, similar to the Flagellant. Read the mod page of the class in question for information on whether it has custom afflictions/virtues.

Known Issues
  • During the Shieldbreaker's nightmare-ambush sequence, the Shieldbreaker will always get afflicted.
  • Heroes that die during the Farmstead's endless mode will still return afflicted with Refracted.

Uninstalling
This mod is safe to uninstall mid-playthrough.

Load Order
Load order shouldn't matter, but if you are having problems, try moving it higher in the load order.

@FunkieJunkie a late reply since I haven't been very active on steam, but I had a mod for 50/50, chances are you probably already found it since it's already been over a year but here is the link for the mod: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2131674671

I also made a 40/60 and 60/40 version now that I'm back.

{if you already made one then apologies for the annoyance!}

would i be possible to make a 50/50 version? I've always felt it would make more sense for it to be that way in base game anyways

Many thanks. I should also check the custom mod classes for override commands, as you say.

No problem. It's probably because I didn't lock the values although I did lock them on my other affliction/virtue mods. As for the modded classes quite a few a them have an override just like the Flagellant I know two of Muscarine's classes The Fool and The Hollow have an override you would have to manually check for each modded class you use.

Indeed it does so unless the class has an override (override always takes priority regardless) it should be 95% virtue. I used this on the 100% virtue/affliction mods changing both to min/max to 0.0 in one mod and 1.0 on the other.

Thanks for the reply. I keep having my troops afflicted with this mod, however - especially the custom modded classes. I ended up uninstalling your mod and went to the 'rules' files (the ones in the 'shared' folder of DD, the ones in the 'shared' folder of 'radiant' and the ones in the 'shared' folder of the crimson court dlc). I changed these parameters to these attributes, in all three files:

"affliction_base_onset_chance": 0.05,
"affliction_critical_success_chance": 0.95,
"affliction_min_chance": 0.05,
"affliction_max_chance": 0.05,

I think this gives my troops a 95% chance of virtue and only a 5% chance of affliction - no matter what other factors could've applied (like equipment bonus/penalties), right?

I didn't change anything besides the shared settings. That behavior is standard from the DLC with no mods the Flagellant has an override setting on his own files with a 100% change to override everything affliction or virtue with his own custom affliction Rapturous (berserk on the files).

If you want to edit yourself you can go to Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon\dlc\580100_crimson_court\features\flagellant\heroes\flagellant\flagellant.info.darkest and search for this line overstressed_modifier: .override_trait_type_ids berserk .override_trait_type_chances 1.0

Hey, can you tell where exactly do you specify that the Flagellant is not affected by this mod? I search the files and all I see is the change virtue command on three separate files.
