Mod/Scenario - None (Vanilla)


The Portage class Flatbed Lifter, one of the "Survival & Defence" Series, is a Starter ground vehicle & "static structure" transport.
- Update - now with artificial gravity!
The primary purpose of the Portage class is to spawn &/or transport the static structures of the S&D Series. To that end, the flatbed area at the rear of the vessel is a 7x7 area, capable of docking even the Survival Pod - one of the biggest of the 'non-vehicles'.
Since the Portage class is not really intended to be used to explore, path find or fight, its equipment list is fairly limited.

Core Placement = Port-side aft, next to Warp Drive, in front of Container Extensions.

Shortcuts
- NOTE - the devices have been sorted into custom device groups, upon which some of the custom Device Group Shortcuts depend, so it is strongly recommended to not use the "Auto Group" feature.
Device Group Shortcuts:
1. PropulsionEtc - Turns on & off "main" Thrusters.
2. MaxLift - Turns on & off additional "lift" thrusters for high-G environments.
3. Navlights - Turns on & off the red/green/white port/starboard/stern Navigation lights.
4. FlightStrobes - Turns on & off the bright white strobing "in flight" (moving) lights.
5. Ventilators - Turns on & off the Ventilator block (so you can save power in a breathable environment).
6. ArtificialGravity - Turns on & off the Gravity Generator (so you can save power when landed on a planet).
Signals Shortcuts:
1. PowerSave - Turning the 'Power Save' custom signal on turns the following devices off:
4 of the 6 Power Generators; WiFi; Lights/Doors/Ramps Control Sensors; Holo (LCD) Projectors; Ingress Lights.
2. Turrets - Turns on & off the Sentry Turrets.
3. Headlights - Turns on & off the single chin-mounted Spotlight block.
4. LandingFloods - Turns on & off the nacelle-mounted front-and-back diagonal Spotlight blocks.

Door/Lights/Ramp Automation
Shutter Doors are automatic. Interior lights, Flatbed Illumination lights, Ground lights & Anti Collision Beacons are automatic; Running Lights are always on; Nav Lights & Flight Strobes are manual only. Ramps are automatic.

Upgrade/Adaptability Space
Removing the block beneath the Core provides space for a T2 CPU Extender.
Removing the "fuel pipe" blocks from between the 2 fuel tanks on each side of the warp drive provides space for 2 more tanks. There is also another free space on each side behind the rear-most fuel tank.
2 more free-block spaces can be found (on the ceiling) on either side of the Pentaxid Tank.
Finally, the thruster nacelles are hollow (accessed via the shutters on the inboard surfaces, visible from the flatbed), allowing for additional devices (generators or fuel tanks, etc) or installation of medium thrusters, plus the outer-casing has additional thruster slots as well.


- NOTE - any Mini Fridges on board come turned off by default to save power until food is inside needing to be kept cold, and can only be turned off manually (or by turning off all power to the vehicle) from the fridge's own UI to limit instances of food being accidentally spoiled.
