Prison Fire Brigade

Description
Expand your prison with a Prison Fire Brigade. Build up to 4 Water Tanks, each having their own team of firefighters. When a fire occurs, you can set them to work via the Emergency CallOuts.


USAGE
Build a Fire Brigade room where you place Fireman Lockers and Showers.
Next, draw a 75 tiles square on the map with the Planning Tools. This area will be covered by a Water Tank, which you place in the exact centre of this square.
Hire up to 4 Prison Firemen to create a team for the Water Tank and you're done.


NEW ROOMS
- Fire Brigade: a room where your firemen will hang out when they have nothing to do. This is also the place where they go take a shower after they are done fighting fires.

- WaterTank: a sector required room in case you need it. You can mark the 9 tiles below the Water Tank with this room to let it be it's own deployment sector. Mark it as Staff-Only and Access-Only so nobody else comes here.


NEW OBJECTS
- Fireman Locker: each fireman requires his own locker, you can't hire more firemen than available lockers.
- Fireman ShowerHead: firemen get dirty and they need a shower after work is done. Requires cold water pipes. Please make sure Showers are placed within 10 tiles of the lockers.
- Water Tank: placed in the centre of a 75 tiles square to cover a certain area of your prison. You can place up to 4 Water Tanks. If there is a fire out of range of your tanks, then set one to MANUAL in order to override the automatic fire fighting. You can then move your firemen manually to the remote spot which is on fire.


NEW STAFF
- Prison Fireman: each Water Tank has a team of up to 4 Firemen. Three of them are ranked Firefighter. The 4th member is a Crew Manager who will allow AUTO mode so all firemen will do their jobs without you having to move them around the map. If the team consists of less than 4 members, you are stuck to MANUAL mode and have to control which fireman goes where. Should your Crew Manager die during a fire, then you can hire a new fireman who will take over his place and re-enable AUTO mode.


NEW CALLOUT
- Prison Fire Brigade: call up to 4 teams. The Water Tank being nearest to a fire will be deployed. When there are several fires, you can deploy several tanks. But if there are no fires at all, then the CallOut will delete itself immediately. To override this, you can set a Water Tank to MANUAL mode, so you can have a team of firemen standby at all times. This can be handy if you run a Cotton Plantation (which can be set on fire by lightning), where you might want to strategically place a few firemen when you leave the game unattended for a while and don't want to find your prison burning to the ground when you come back.


NEW GRANT
- Prison Fire Brigade grant to help you out placing the stuff you need.


NEW QUICKBUILD
- A convenient Fire Brigade room with all the stuff needed for one team of firemen. You can build 4 QuickBuilds all near their own WaterTank to have minimum walking distance for your firemen, or make one large central fire brigade room yourself, it's all up to you.


NEW FEATURES
This mod implements many new features from PA Update 14 and is incompatible with older versions of the game: Staff Needs, Staff Jobs, Staff HangOutRoom, DefaultBehaviour, CancelJobs, it's all inside. Do not try to run this mod with anything below Update 14, because it will simply not work. Using another mod which changes the firemen clothes or something like that will also mess up, since firemen can get naked in here to shower, and your other mod probably didn't account for that to happen...

This old version will stay for prior versions of the game, but is broken since The Rock.

A version 2.0 is being created, features:
- introducing Prison FireBrigade Chief, who handles sacking and hiring Prison Firemen
- limit of 4 tanks changed to 26 tanks (Teams A-Z instead of A-D)
- better jobs handling for the PrisonFiremen when showering / changing clothes
- no more scripted PrisonFiremen, saves a bunch of scripts
- solved new issues regarding call-out handling which broke this mod.

This mod no longer works properly since The Rock came out.
Some things changed to the call-outs and returning firemen no longer load themselves back on a vehicle. But the WaterTank is coded to check for loaded firemen so it knows when to stop. Instead firemen who are dismissed now just walk off the map and the WaterTank thus spits out an error as soon as the first one leaves the map...

I put the when you die it bursts into flames thingy on soo every house is at risk just like a city.

Don't forget another cool way to fight fires is with the Chinook mod, by doing a fly-by while the firemen spray water onto a fire. So if you have fires out of reach in a huge prison, you can also decide to put a few waypoints on the map once a fire occurs and the chinook firemen will handle your problem :)

I could, but the convenience of having instant fire brigade available next to some area in your prison is such an advantage, that there HAS to be something to keep things in balance. The limitation of having 4 tanks exists for this reason. There are only a few spots where fires will break out: kitchen/canteen/cotton plantation/garden, and perhaps power stations if the prison design sucks and has water pipes running nearby.

But even 4 tanks can cover a bigger area than just 75 square tiles. The only thing you'd need to do is to set tanks to manual and control the firebrigade manually when a tank that you want to use is further away than 75 tiles. Auto fire fighting only works within 75 tiles of a water tank.
