Sydney Trains K set (4 cars)

Description
Deprecated. Delisted. Check out JenperTC's improved model :)

Includes two assets: SydKset-4LC (line coloured), SydKset-4-NLC (non line coloured)
8 car set available here: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1497838271

Only a few lines still have K sets in service in Sydney today, but if you grew up in the city you know them well. These were the first trains in Sydney to feature air conditioning, progressing the design of the S set. (Also apparently the first Sydney train to feature headlights??)

This asset features all sorts of loving details and lessons learned from my Tangara asset, such as:

- a new and improved blue guard light (was only painted onto the Tangara texture; still doesn't light up though)
- a messy bunch of tubes and grimy underbits
- pretty nice looking ridge things all over it
- all in a tidy 1024x1024 texture without sacrificing quality
- 2582 triangles on the power carriage (84 LOD)
- 1956 triangles on the trailer carriage (76 LOD)
- line-coloured and non line-coloured sets included (SydKset-4LC and SydKset-4-NLC are the names; NLC = no line colour)
- last car is already set to be the engine without additional mods. (However I still recommend Improved Public Transport 2 and Advanced Vehicle Options)
- it doesn't lean as much going around bends as the regular trains

In gathering reference material for this model I found that there were many many combinations and iterations of similar carriages between the K, S and C sets - for example the standard setup on the transport website has the pantograph on the first trailer, plugged into the power carriage. I decided to stick with featuring it on the first and last for simplicity. I hope this is a pleasing recreation of a special Sydney train for your cities!

This would be amazing if we could use this on metro lines as we can build underground stations.

I know the 6 version has not been used of this as far as you know like you previously said, but the 4 is just a little too short to use as a main line, and the 8 is too long for most stations. I would love to have a "full" train that doesn't overspill on the platforms.
Your vehicles are amazing by the way, i love using them, and i can't wait to see what more you bring out.

Thanks Rob. :-)
I believe they used to consist of one engine car and one 'driving trailer' (basically a trailer car with headlights and a drivers compartment).
Theres an example of one in a video at

Perfectly happy with just a 'normal' trailer as well. Would be nice to have something like this to use on less populated lines.
Thanks again for the great work that your doing. Looking forward to your V sets as well.

This is interesting and I will say sure, why not. I'll try to put it out either tomorrow or friday evening. Guessing it's just one engine car and a trailer car.
Someone also asked for a 6-car.. I don't really want to, but if anyone knows an example like this where there have been 6 car sets, let me know!

Would it be possible to make a 2 car version of the K Set?
I believe that CityRail used to operate the 2 car variant in suburban use on the Newcastle line.

I am working on the A set at the moment and will publish it this month, but the V set is next in line after that, so probably October :)
