S, R & L Sets Are Old Silver Rattlers

This would be amazing if we could use this on metro lines as we can build underground stations.

I know the 6 version has not been used of this as far as you know like you previously said, but the 4 is just a little too short to use as a main line, and the 8 is too long for most stations. I would love to have a "full" train that doesn't overspill on the platforms.
Your vehicles are amazing by the way, i love using them, and i can't wait to see what more you bring out.

Thanks Rob. :-)
I believe they used to consist of one engine car and one 'driving trailer' (basically a trailer car with headlights and a drivers compartment).
Theres an example of one in a video at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4magp7Ro0w
Perfectly happy with just a 'normal' trailer as well. Would be nice to have something like this to use on less populated lines.
Thanks again for the great work that your doing. Looking forward to your V sets as well.

This is interesting and I will say sure, why not. I'll try to put it out either tomorrow or friday evening. Guessing it's just one engine car and a trailer car.
Someone also asked for a 6-car.. I don't really want to, but if anyone knows an example like this where there have been 6 car sets, let me know!

Would it be possible to make a 2 car version of the K Set?
I believe that CityRail used to operate the 2 car variant in suburban use on the Newcastle line.

Okay thanks

I am working on the A set at the moment and will publish it this month, but the V set is next in line after that, so probably October :)
BUZ 12 Sep, 2018 @ 1:01am
Can you do the V-set next please

I'm kinda sad they took these off sector 1 (T1). Oh well, hope i can catch some sector 2 trains to catch one of these again

Dude this is awesome! Hate it when this train rocks up instead of the new ones :)
jq371 30 Aug, 2018 @ 1:01am
@Robert - ah well - SP - short platform, ride in the rear 4 cars only :) :) :)
Robert  [author] 29 Aug, 2018 @ 9:40pm
Thanks! I will publish the 8 car set as a separate option tonight. I tested it last night and it works but sticks out the ends of the vanilla/dlc stations. :\
jq371 29 Aug, 2018 @ 9:30pm
ahhhhh. LOVE !!!!!!! nothing makes a train line come alive like these sydney trains !!!
Robert  [author] 29 Aug, 2018 @ 4:14am
Thanks! I'm going to work my way through the fleet, I recognise the rattlers but I was quite young when they retired them. Open to giving them a try but don't hold your breath :)
Lordwarblade 29 Aug, 2018 @ 2:58am
This is excellent. I seem to end up using these everywhere I go. Tangaras avoid me.

All I need now to make me truly happy is a "red rattler" from the good old days. They went out of service in 1991. You know the ones, windows rattled a lot, and the sliding doors often wouldn't close so stayed open during the journey (which was a bonus in the pre-air conditioning days). Schoolkids would congregate around the open doorways to prove how brave they were. Only an idiot would miss them.

I miss them.

Awesome train. I'll second the suggestion of a V set, would love to have some Sydney interurban trains. An OSCAR would be nice as well. Great work so far.
Beaker-MeepMeep 28 Aug, 2018 @ 10:52pm
You're a champion!
Robert  [author] 28 Aug, 2018 @ 10:00pm
I'll set up a prop pack that I put all my railcars in as they get made. I'll get it sorted this week! Need to figure out the very best shade of yellow to stick on the non-line coloured sets. :)
Beaker-MeepMeep 28 Aug, 2018 @ 9:37pm
Very cool! Like the Tangara, I'd love a prop version for my rail yard.
Robert  [author] 28 Aug, 2018 @ 8:02pm
Eventually I'd like to figure out how to make custom stations but it's daunting, especially with the whole Metro Overhaul Mod niche to consider.
Robert  [author] 28 Aug, 2018 @ 8:00pm
I know how to do the two engines in the middle thing now, but yeah, even the Tangara was bugging out on vanilla stations with 8 cars, which is why I compromised and published an inaccurate 6-car set. I will test some more, and be offering separate 8-car sets from here on (and eventually the Tangara), but add a caution that they might require longer stations to work properly.
Alberich 28 Aug, 2018 @ 7:42pm
awesome news Robert, I have a feeling the newer Waratah sets will be easier to make mostly because they don't require an engine car in the middle (and instead run as a solid 8 car consist) everything else i've seen runs in 2 4car consists connected in the middle.

I think my only concern with the V-set model is the fact that a V-set carriage is quite large, and an 8car consist would be longer then some of the default vanilla platforms in the game, a minor issue, really.
DannyT 28 Aug, 2018 @ 11:33am
By the look of the screenshots this looks great !
Robert  [author] 28 Aug, 2018 @ 7:02am
I have a feeling I'll be doing all of the in-service models eventually. Thanks :)
Alberich 28 Aug, 2018 @ 7:01am
Wouldn't mind a V-set to go along with this! Excellent model m8 cheers.
