Description
Full edit of d3_c17_08 from half life 2 for roleplay and anything you want

You will need HL2 EP1 & EP2 + CSS mounted to garrysmod for no errors or missing textures!

Map in fullbright? --> Type mat_fullbright 0 in the console and then type restart also
make sure you have HDR enabled!
Thanks to "StardewSkyline" for finding this solution!

Improvement suggestions are always welcome ... also if you experience any bugs leave me a comment!

You can generate the Navmesh urself by typing in console "nav_generate". AI Nodes are already included and i optimized them in last update. Thanks for the suggestions

navmesh? AI nodes? Maybe some pretty deep tunnel/sewer system? Maybe even make it more spooky the deeper you go?

One of my favorite set pieces from the entire game, thank you for making this!

If it makes you feel any better, Valve didn't even bother to compile LDR for about half the maps in HL2. Ravenholm & the Coast maps are almost all HDR-only.

@hellwire

It's alright, a lot of people do it so I don't hold it against you. It's not like Valve documented anything related to HDR anyway. It's basically implied - but never said - by Valve to use no more than a 0.85 HDR brightness scale on lights.

1.0 HDR brightness is what causes the retina-burning washout effect that a lot of maps have, especially if the lighting is brightly lit.

Just simply turning down the HDR scale is enough to make a massive improvement on a lot of maps, but due to the comically steep learning curve of Hammer very few people know that.

@hellwire

The file size is negligible. HDR also looks like crap most of the time, so I prefer to keep it off.

Compiling the Map in LDR would greatly increase filesize as it gets stored seperatly in the BSP file and i dont know any reason why not to use HDR instead as looks much better and gives me greater control over the lighting. I will note and update in the future! Thanks

1. Is there a reason you didn't compile standard LDR lighting?
2. The bloom on your HDR is blinding, set the HDR brightness scale in the light_environment to 0.8

yes
