GilBunker V2 lvl5

Description
Welcome to GilBunker V2, the larger successor to the origional GilBunker. Whether you use the level 20 or the level 5 it should cover most of your needs and has a massive customization space. GilBunker V2 is very energy efficient for its size and as long as you dont leave any of the energy intensive devices on when you are not using them, it should never run out of power, assuming good placement for solar power. If using the level 5 as a starter it will be costly in terms of stone initially, but it has everything you need as you level up with instructions in the base on how to upgrade any area that may need it. Its large enough that you can even spawn small CVs on the roof if you play with spawn limits. Some features:

- Full solar compliment with 12 capacitors.
- Two sentries activate or deactivate on motion sensor. One on the front entry and the other will open and deactivate the larger side turret to allow a clean firing arc on enemies on that side.
- All lights on motion sensor control
- Main page of control panel can shut off or turn on all energy sinks in groups
- Devices page is very well organized and labelled for individual control, with the things you actually use at the top of the list and smartly grouped.
- Space alloted for all BA devices
- 6 groups of 27 grow plots with the ability to individually power them on as needed via switches
- Stamina regen decor strategically placed to minimize food consumption when sprinting everywhere
- Plenty of storage space, and room to expand accounted for.

Placement instructions (first two pictures)
- This base is meant to be placed partly over water for a safe water farm.
- You will want the shoreline to go a small way past the arrows when placing it, but not by much. there is wiggle room going forward, that is just the "better safe than sorry" point.
- You do not want the front end of the base submerged in water, but that may be challenging to gauge if you are placing it on an island or something similar.
- You want the waterline to be ever so slightly BELOW the top of the yellow line. Above and you could have water wher you dont want it, but too much below the top and you may not have any where it is needed.
- This base really relies on Solar, especially the level 5 version, so you are looking for a nice coastling near the equater with a roughly straight stretch of beach that allows you to be facing pretty much due east or west when you drop it.
- Dont let the specifics intimidate you, this base is actually easy to place, as long as you follow a couple of specific details, and i made it so it doesnt need to be "perfect." The height, and the front being on land are the most important two things you need to be mindful of.

Please let me know what you think, and dont forget to rate it to help others find it if you liked it. Also please check out some of the other builds in my ever growing workshop, im sure you might find something fun or interesting there. Thank you!

I haven't been playing EGS long, but this is the first base that works well. Expensive to build early on but well worth it over the long run. Tough to defend though on medium until I added some outrider platforms with more guns. I really love the attention to detail in the power management, sensors, and labelling. Very well done!

To build on whitepawrolls comment about base damage. On medium setting 3 drones can get past cannons if only two can fire on it. I solve that with outrider platforms conneced to the base. These start out with a single cannon and a sentry gun, then get upgraded to two cannons, two sentries and a rocket. Expansive to do but provides overlapped fire patterns so at least three strong points attack incoming hostiles. Helps with those overhead drones.

Personally I usually play on easy, and have had this happen once. If your just out of rez range when the drones come in the cannons are useless (this is a known thing). When you get back the drones are right over top of the base and attacking. Others that play on hard mode might have it a lot worse in this situation.

I spend more time building than playing, so sometimes i misjudge what features may be more beneficial, particularly in areas like that. I have yet to encounter a situation planetside where 6 canons is not enough to prevent any hostiles from getting within range to damage the building. is that something that happens often in a PVE environment?

I prefer to have as much seperated and self oxygenated as possible in case of damage to the building. After all the work I go into getting all thoe crops going I don't want most of them dying if the building gets damaged :)

that was actually intentional once you get a hanger door, it should have allowed the entire base to be oxygenated off of the one ventilator. I think i know which ones should have been airtight to prevent you losing your environmental seal but i will drop it on a non oxygen world to check and then do an update.

Been using this base for a bit now and love it. I DID notice one thing though. Most of the doors used were the non air tight ones. I moved to an arid world and had to replace most of them.

Love this base. I put mine mostly or all over water though swimming under to place support pillars where needed, and used 3x3 shutter doors (with a temp row of blocks on top, and one side) to make the hanger both airtight and secure until I get the hanger door still keeping it at a lvl 5 base. Having LOTS of grow areas was a big plus for me too. All the hint signs for upgrades was awesome too.

Thank you! I managed to get it spawned in a survival game yesterday, and so far it seems to be holding up nicely and workflow in it is pretty good. Looking for anything I could do to improve or streamline how it functions, and so far I have only found a few little details I will be updating the blueprint with (i think one of the rooms was a little dark, forgot to expand the light radius) will update this in a day or two after i double check a few more things and get some upgrades in it.
