Features of this mod
  • Warns players if grid travel system is not ready, so that you can prevent losing ships/assets (possibly corrupting your savegame due to stuck/destroyed ships at borders) and don't have to respawn
  • Introduces a configurable decay timer for player characters. Default are 7 days, so that they get auto removed.
  • Checks for logged in players on all grids if there are duplicate player characters and removes them (no more teleportation to e. g. previously visited islands away from your ship..., or possibly losing level due to char information mismatch)
  • A Cross-Grid-Communication API, for other modders to directly communicate/transmit information from one grid to another! (per grid hop on average 1.5 sec transmission delay)
  • Cross-Grid Chat Messages for all players, with modes - Whisper, Corp, Alliance, Global - whereas Global can be deactivated with gus.ini setting.
  • Admin Script Command to remove Claim Flags
  • Admin ranged GiveTo and Destroy commands, with possibility to specify classes and target Player Name/TeamID and others.
  • Admin Destroy command accross all grids similar to ranged Destroy command.
  • Does provide an automatic NPC duplicate check to mitigate the problem with e. g. cloned ships/crew/creatures due to grid travel
  • Comes with a build in API Logger for better error analysis

What's the purpose of this mod?
This mod does introduce helping functions and features for admins, other mods and players. For example the command
admincheat ScriptCommand SaveCIS
from the Custom Item Stacks mod does rely on this mod, in order to trigger a save stacks command on all grids while the admin only needs to execute it on one grid.

It does not solve the fertilizer and gunpowder issue -> best to use the Custom Item Stacks mod for that, since implementing the same logic over and over again is wasting precious server performance!

It is highly recommended to use the Redis RawTravelData cleaner tool (only for root servers)[github.com] with this mod, since it produces a lot of travel data and the vanilla game does not perform a db cleanup. This leads to gigantic db sizes and your game will stop working as expected after some time.

How do you get it to work?
Simply subscribe and activate it on your server. The system will be automatically active, no need to spawn anything in or stuff like that! You'll know that the system works if you see the Grid travel warning directly after you started your server and log in asap.

  • For admins; A class counter library, to count all e. g. owned creatures/ships/structures

Don't mind me, I was misunderstanding how the mod works, it seems to be working fine, I love you and I want you to have my babies, thank you for single-handedly saving this game for me.

I'm trying this for single player and I still have the grid travel warning after about half an hour, when I tried to travel to a different sector it worked fine even though I still had the warning, I know this mod isn't supported anymore but I'd be very grateful if someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Is there something I need to do to make it work in single player? After half an hour of gameplay it still hasn't given me the green light to travel.

Sorry i just realised your not even involved with the other Beastmaster Mod ,so many issues from mods.
However i was thinking that can we not get the admin tool to work once crossing a zone because it seems to stop working and only works on the initial startup.I know it doesn't work past the zone crossing because i can no longer do the SAVE CIS command.

I keep starting/stopping restarting trying to see what works what is causing issues with what mod,i seem to never run out of problems.

So ever since last update everything is all messed up again...sigh.

I was reading your mention of the database becoming cluttered after time which is exactly what i was figuring for some time now.IDK maybe i am tired but i got a headache trying to follow all those instructions to load some NODE and database cleaner.../tired.

Anyhow now just today the beastmaster heals do not show up on the hotbar and to think of it idk how they were even on the hotbar because they would have to conflict with other spaces already used?I was using this for a very long time and never had any issues with the Beastmaster part so it just adds to my frustration that now i have the no show on top of struggling to keep server running.

Hey Impulse, may you can help me. Im using your mod on our new server. We've done a new setup and now we got the msg. that grid travel is not safe for hours. Do you know may were the problem could be?

@Tyler, do you run the RawTravelData cleaner tool? Because if the redis got cluttered by the game with raw travel data and gets to big, no travel is working any longer and your ships get stuck at the border (so to say destroyed).
