Description
A medium sized rescue ship capable of fulfilling many different roles with both good range and speed in even stormy seas.

  • GPS.
  • Water cannon.
  • Automatic stabilization.
  • Dual automatic Jet/Propeller propulsion with manual override.
  • Flood alert system with manual pumps
  • Proximity warning system.

  • Connectors for ISO 20ft containers on rear deck.
  • Sequential gearbox with six gears
  • Electrical propellers for reverse and sideways movement.
  • Heading hold.
  • Heaters and cold weather gear.
  • Crane and water ballast counterweight for heavier lifting.
  • Emergency/Auxiliary battery starters.

Specifications
Top speed: 45 kts
Fuel capacity: ~35500 liters
Range: 130km according to the Fuel computer in 3rd gear, varies with power setting.
Length: 32m
Beam: 7m (Excluding crane and forward fins.)
Draft: 3.5m

Facilities:
2 Medical beds
3 Beds
12 Passenger seats total

How to start:

Engine room
1. Equalize fuel tanks.
2. Start fuel and coolant pumps.
3. Turn on main battery. Alternatively use the emergency starter if main battery is depleted.
4. Hold engine starter until above 2 RPS engine speed.

-------------------------------------------------

Operational tips:

Engines & Battery
2nd gear for best top speed.
3rd gear for a balance between speed and range.
4th gear and up will give more range.

Ship will automatically switch between Propellers/Jets at 15kts, be careful with sharp maneuvers near that speed.
Run it in neutral or a lower gear to quickly charge the batteries.
Keeping the engine on in neutral will assure you're always charging.

Radar
Top mounted radar is slow and more detailed but due to it's high position it can't see much at the water level. Use it to detect large or tall objects.
Bow mounted radar is much faster but with less detail, and sits in a more advantageous position to help in detecting things near the water level.

Ballast
Partially fill the main ballast tank to make the ship more stable when low on fuel.
Use the counterweight ballast when lifting heavy loads to prevent capsizing.
Use Ballast tanks 1&2 to lower the rear deck into the water for loading smaller vessels such as Subs & RHIBs.

General safety
Be careful with turning when reversing fast.
Always keep all exterior doors and hatches closed to prevent flooding.

Yeah cooling the engines are probably the biggest con, but other than that they do seem to be both more powerful and fuel efficient compared to the old engines. Other than that figuring out air-fuel ratio took a bit of research.

Creating gas relief valves for the fuel/ballast tanks helped a lot too with the compressed gases update.
ShopSnipe 14 Jun @ 5:21am
Ah! Good ol' Stormworks physics! This actually makes sense because after the compressed gases update I had to add additional fluid pumps for just about everything. I'm still using standard engines on my builds but on my larger submarine I had to pressurize the fuel tanks just to keep the flow up or the engine would lose power. I have not had any experience building the modular engines, but as I understand, there are several pros and cons. It sounds like cooling may be one of the cons. Either way, this is still my all time favorite ship, and I was really excited to see the update. Thank you for taking the time to explain.

@ShopSnipe
You're welcome! And yeah unfortunately it sits quite low in the water now.

Took me like a week of looking over everything to make sure there were no leaks or fluid in the wrong place. Old engine version sits normally, but the modular one sits low. Dry weight is also almost the same. So I'm pretty sure it is all the coolant in all the long coolant pipes that is weighing it down.

Had to put radiators pretty much everywhere and pipe coolant there to cool the ship with the new modular engines, and then finding out that each radiator & heatsink lowers coolant pressure as it passes through. So I had to create multiple coolant loops with a total of 20+ radiators & heatsinks both large and small. Must be thousands of liters of coolant in total I realize now that it is done lol. Not the most efficient system I know.

On the plus side, you can pretty much run the engines at full power in 3rd gear at I think roughly 40kts without overheating, even in the warmest parts of the map.

Thank you for updating. Seems it might be sitting a little lower in the water?

Well done, thanks for updating it!

Finally got around to updating this ship, removed some of the old stuff and added more efficient modular engines that gets much better speed and range. Probably still some left over logic and dials from the 4 engines I removed. More details in the changelog for those interested.

@chunkymonkey2220
Thank you. And I may update it again at some point, haven't played the game in a while so I have no idea how many things have broken over the last year or so of updates.

@Shamshurin.T
Thank you very much. And I don't have any real plans to update it at this time. But at some point I may get interested in the game again and then I may update it.
