Description
The Muthos Engineering Consortium is proud to finally bring the "Solar Flower" station to our catalogue! This brand new design features six large composite solar arrays that feed energy into a central facility, where it can be used to craft portable enrgy cells or to power a secondary industrial process. The "Solar Flower" also includes hangars for cargo shuttles and fighters. Larger ships are docked at a secondary docking platform, which sits at the end of a long arm to keep heavy cargo traffic away from the fragile solar panels.

Key features of the MEC Solar Flower:

-11 upgrade slots
-Armored internals
-Large cargo bay and production modules
-A fair number of frameworks for additional upgrades and customization
-Monorail service between docking platform and main facility
-Hangar facilities with seven "Swarm Pod Mk. II" fighter bays
-Built-in atmospheric pollen scrubbers.

Armament:

-4x size 4 heavy weapons mounts
-10x size 1 point defense hardpoints

At the end of the docking boom is a hexagonal area containing, behind glass, the nameplate and logo of the Muthos Engineering Consortium. Customers are encouraged (though not required) to replace this with their own heraldry or insignias.

By default, the "Solar Flower" comes with VT-2, VPD-1, and VPD-2 custom turrets. If you'd like to use other MEC turrets with it, check out the MEC Signature Collection!

The (decorative) docked fighters are...

One VF-4 'Vidua' missile fighter (powered down on a maintenance pad).

One VCS-2 'Flavopilosa' passenger shuttle (ready to go on a maintenance pad).

Five VD-2 'Vechti' cargo drones without any cargo (on refueling racks on the docking platform).

All of these designs and more are available in the MEC signature catalogue.

This station started out with an entirely different center section. Block count was starting to get higher than I was comfortable with, so I ended up splitting it in half and doing a new, slightly less complex center to go with the solar panels. The good news is that now I have a second, half-finished station sitting around, so stay tuned!
